Thanks so much ladies for all the advice. Mostly everyone is saying
1. Fenugreek
2. Mother's Milk
3. Pump more
4. Drink lots of water!
I bought the pills and the tea today. I will pump every two hours and drink a whole lot of water. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Fingers crossed!!
Well what I did was, I was bottle feeding alot in the beginning, but I got really tired of it and honestly we didn't start feeding till around 6 weeks. I didn't give him a choice. If he was hungry, he'd fight me not wanting to breast feed. But eventually he got hungry Enough and latched on. *advice from someone else* but it worked.
There could be a lot of reasons why he fusses when going on the breast. Most of the time, it has to do with them being impatient and wanting milk faster. It doesn't mean that you don't have any. My daughter does the same thing. How many weeks postpartum are you? Your breasts soften up around 2-3 weeks postpartum and won't feel hard like when your milk first came in. And like pp said, pumping is not a good indication of how much milk you have. Maybe a lactation consultant would put your mind at ease? In the meantime there are things you can do to up your supply. I make lactation cookies (mostly just so I have a snack), there's fenugreek and blessed thistle and also mothers milk tea.
But my boobs feel completely empty. Is that not a good indication either? And he doesn't like to latch. One day he will, one day he won't. So I can't rely on going straight in the boob. I have to pump so he will eat.
I had the same issue. Just keep pumping every few hours even if you aren't getting much. Drink lots of water - at least a bottle every time you pump. You'll see an increase in maybe 4 days. I just went through this a few weeks ago!! I'm 5 weeks PP :)
