My son hasn't pooped since Wednesday. He's eng and my doctor said it was okay as log as they go by day 7. He also is fighting RSV so that probably another reason why

Omg he finally pooped!! It was massive!!! Lol

I talked to the nurse at our pediatricians office, and she said that ebf babies can go up to 10 days without pooping! And as long as he is passing gas and his tummy is soft there is no concerns.

So now we wait. Tomorrow will be day #6!

Hey hun. My lo skips days too. Monday he had 3 bowel movements (which is unusual for him), then nothing until today. It's supposed to be normal!

Thanks for the input ladies! I've tried the q-tip trick, massage, and legs with no luck so far. I'm thinking that he is just not going to poop anytime soon...lol. That being said, I put him in a nice outfit today so if the blowout is coming, it'll be today!

It's normal! Since they're mostly "drinking" milk, it comes out as pee more than poo. My lo is on formula and she poops once a day or once every other.

Putting their legs into a squatting position or bicycle legs (rotating the legs like they are riding a bike)

q tip and some Vaseline, just put the cotton part into his bum and put a small amount of pressure downwards, not inwards. then wipe with a warm wipe and prepare for them to be cleared out! sometimes it's a delayed reaction but it almost never fails !! they use this trick at the nicu I'm at and it's always effective!!

It's normal. But I encourage my daughter to use the bathroom everyday by putting her up against my thighs in a sitting position (you laid back a little, knees bent up) and basically walking my fingers in an "n" shape over her belly button and back. Works every single time. Good luck !

Use a rectal thermometer. Just taking his temperature can stimulate the bowels.
