What questions should I ask?? ??♀️
Hi all! I have a consultation with my RE on Thurs to discuss my back to back miscarriages and our plans moving forward. I had 2 successful FETs both of which ended in early miscarriage. The first was in October at 6 weeks and the second was in January st 7 weeks. I’ve been working on a list of questions I should ask my doctor. I have already had the recurrent loss blood panel and we discovered I have a MTHFR gene mutation. The second transfer I was taking folate and baby aspirin because of the MTHFR in addition to estrogen and progesterone. We’ve been ttc for 9 years and have only been able to get pregnant through IVF. I am 35 and also have PCOS and I’m not sure if these relate to my problems or not.
@cphelps it went great! He answered all my questions and calmed my mind. We’re planning in doing our next transfer on April 5th! And he’s wants to do a saline sonogram before then. He is adding lovenox blood thinners to my protocol. Also we decided to transfer 2 embryos rather than just 1. He said he is very hopeful for us and that we will have our 2018 baby! Thanks for checking in on me ☺️
My consultation is this afternoon... wish me luck!
@flowers I’ll for sure ask about those tests. And we didn’t PGS test our embryos because there wasn’t any cause at the time and where I’m at it’s $5,000. But it’s definitely something I may look into in the future. Thanks for the suggestions!
@babydreams I definitely am going to ask about blood thinners. I’ve heard lots of good things about both clexane and lovenox. Thanks for the suggestion!
So sorry for your losses ? for me, they tested for natural killer cells, low leukocyte antibody detection (LAD), and a slew of other immune tests. I can check my results and see what was tested to know the specifics. Have your embryos been PGS tested? There may be a possibility that the ones transferred may not have been chromosomally ‘normal’.
@chphelps, I used to take metformin before we started IVF but stopped because of the side effects. I’ll definitely ask my doctor about going back on it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks ladies! I’m excited to try again but I’m also super nervous. I just hope we get our rainbow this time!
