Oh ok. I’ll definitely add it to my list of questions to ask my RE. I have a list a mile long and it’s growing daily. Lol. I just was some answers!

Cshell- the Lovenox is a blood thinner (like heparin). I did not test positive for any clotting factors, but we added it to try everything just in case. I was also on Metformin, baby aspirin, and folate.

Thanks @wannabema. I also have PCOS and that seems to be the only explanation we’ve been given for our infertility. I would love to transfer more than 1 embryo for our next transfer but I’m not sure our RE will go for it. He’s pretty insistent that one is enough and that it can cause too many complications if you transfer more. But I’m going to push for 2 this next time. And if you don’t mind me asking, what was the lovenox for?

I’m so sorry you are going through this! I went through 2 chemicals with my first two FETs of untested embryos and our 3rd FET gave us our beautiful daughter (originally twins but the other one stopped developing by 6 weeks). The only thing we did different that cycle was add Lovenox injections and transferred 3 embryos instead of 2. Since having my daughter, I’ve had 2 natural early miscarriages, 1 chemical FET, 1 FET that ended up being a blighted ovum (normal male), and a clomid pregnancy in which my baby boy’s heart stopped at 11 weeks and genetic testing done showed he was normal and didn’t give us any answers as well. All diagnostic tests ran on me in the past have all been normal aside from my PCOS. I’m not giving up quite yet though.

It really hurts not to have any answers after a loss. They say everything happens for a reason, but it’s so difficult not to know that reason! Prayers to you for strength and hope for the future!?? (Sorry for my lengthy comment!)

Thanks @expecting. After my first miscarriage my doctor went ahead and ran the recurrent loss blood panel (he’s a saint for doing it after 1 loss). The only thing that came back was I have an MTHFR gene mutation and he put me in baby aspirin and folate. As far as the endo scratch, I hadn’t considered that and I’ll definitely add it to my growing list of questions for my doctor.

So sorry you're going through this , I know it is tough . Looks like the issue is not getting you pregnant , but keeping you pregnant .Since you have had two fairly early losses, maybe you can ask your doctor to run a recurrent miscarriage panel on you to see if you have any clotting disorder or other other autoimmune situation that may cause your body to mis carry . If there is they can give meds such as predisonsone or something to help your body not reject embryo . Also , did you get an endo scratch (endometrial biopsy) done . That is supposed to help the lining be more receptive to sustain pregnancy so you can talk to your doctor about that too. As far as PGS is concerned, that's up to you. I'm not discouraging it but I will say I've seen ladies miscarry PGS normal embryos . Maybe get other testing done on you first . Hugs!!

@blaureano thanks for the response. We didn’t have our embryos tested because there wasn’t really any indication that it was necessary. But it’s definitely something I plan to ask about at our consultation. I’m a little weary of the testing because it’s $4500 which is similar to the cost of a transfer. But if our doctor says it’s our only hope, we might consider it. We have 3 more embabies on ice and I hope I get to bring them all home with me, but I’d be over the moon if we get just one.

Cshell. Im so sorry to hear this. I remember you from my previously failed cycles. Did you have your embryos genetically tested? If not, this maybe it. I was told when the body miscarries, its usually due to chromosome abnormalities in the embryos. I hope your 3rd time is it. It was for us. All the best!
