New here- excited and nervous!!

New here- excited and nervous!!

Hello ladies! My hubby and I are just starting our IVF journey and can't be more excited. But I'm also super nervous! I go in on Friday for my baseline blood work and ultrasound and hopefully will begin my stims very soon after that. After my egg retrieval we'll be freezing any blasts we are able to get and then doing a FET the following cycle.

Welcome! :) I am very new to the process and won't start stimming for a month or so. I will start my period in 3 weeks, then start birth control to quiet my ovaries and control how the eggs mature, then start stims.

The group here is great and very helpful. :)

Welcome indeed. I'm also starting pretty soon. Waiting for my period to start for down regulation!! Then stim once they have a day for me. Hopefully I won't have to be on the bcp too long!

I'm just trying to enjoy every moment right now. Patience is the biggest lesson I have learnt and still learning. So planning my summer with fun activities. Things are now in God's hands and the people He surrounded us with. Love my fertility team!!!

Good luck on your journey! Maybe we will have very similar and close transfer dates

Hi there! And welcome :)

I started my journey a year ago and now I'm 5 weeks pregnant hoping my little bean sticks.

Here's my advice: spend time with your loved ones and open up to a few select people you can trust while on this journey. This can be a tough road if you go at it alone without emotional support so I'm glad your here. We're all pretty helpful and supportive. Also, don't stress or worry about the little bumps on the road. Everything will work out in the end if your resilient and don't give up. Go about things with a positive attitude.

I developed OHSS after egg retrieval and I don't have PCOS. But if they know you have PCOS, they will be extra cautious and most likely, won't over stimulate you. Wishing you the best of luck! ??❤️

Good luck with this journey! We just had egg retrieval and will hopefully do FET in August. I also have pcos and was a a huge risk for ohss. I had a medicated cycle which we turned into ivf when I over-stimmed (it's a long story, but basically I had to see another RE when I went out of town and she kept upping my meds against the advice of my normal RE). They retrieved 53 eggs! So far I'm on my 3rd day after retrieval and besides feeling a little bloated and sore I'm doing fine (I guess I'm not completely out of the woods yet though).

I'm taking cabergoline for 8 days (started 2 days before egg retrieval) and ganirelix for 5 days after ER. I don't think the ganirelix is the usual protocol but with so many follicles my RE was really worried. I've been drinking either coconut water or electrolyte water and no "regular water". I've been trying to eat lots of protein smoothies, salty foods, and staying away from sweets. Honestly not very healthy but at least I don't have ohss! I was really bloated for the few days before ER so I wish I had started drinking the electrolyte/coconut water sooner, that would be my advice. I actually felt much worse leading up to ER with high estrogen, etc than I do now (estrogen was up to 6000 at one point, my RE was going to cancel but it went down). Hope this helps!

Welcome ?

It's a long process so you have to be patient.

FET is a better option for you so your ovaries can calm down after egg retrieval.

We did FET because we had to screen our embryos. Currently in the TWW.

There are different protocols but mine was short and simple. 9 days of stims and no crazy symptoms or mood swings ?

Best of luck ??
