make sure you are drinking enough for urself and milk production, we often are so focused on how much our babies are drinking that we neglect the source- us! :) it happened to me with #2 - just saying - and good luck

My best advice is don't ever use formula. The more you use formula the more your supply will suffer. Nurse on demand and you should be fine. If your baby nurses every hour then that's good for building your supply. You won't always have to nurse so often but it's necessary to establish supply. Good luck!

My daughter is also 2 days old and I was having the same problem. Keep putting baby on your breast. My doctors told me skin to skin contact helps the supply come. But keep putting baby on your boob even if it's still only the colestrum (whatever it's called lol) that's still super good for the baby's your milk will come in soon. They say it takes about a week for it to come. My milk is just starting to come in today. Drink lots of water and when your feeding baby skin on skin contact is best. Good luck.

Thank you amc I do put him on abd gee latches with no problem...and he has allot of wet and popped diapers so far I'll keep trying I won't give up. But for now I'm going to n keep doing what I'm doing. Thank you again.

Not everyone's body makes as much as they need. My milk never came in with my daughter, I was diagnosed by many lactation consults with IGT (insufficient glandular tissue) and hypoplastic breasts. I pumped every 2 hours, put the baby to the breast whenever she wanted, took fenugreek, mother love more milk special blend, shivarti, goats rue and other vitamins to help with milk production, saw different lactation consultants and None of this helped. The max I produced in 24 hours was 10 ounces. So no, your body doesn't always make what baby needs. That being said I don't wish this upon anyone! But most peoples milk takes a few days to come in, so just put the baby to breast as much as possible, and watch for how many wet and poopy diapers baby has to make sure they are getting enough :) good luck!

You can take fenugreek to help with your supply too.

Im giving formula due to me having GD and till I get my milk on dr told me to supplement do that's what I'm doing but we do have successfull latches and bf about 15-20 min each breast but I was concern with my milk no coming in.

My milk to 4-5 days to come in with my first. He seemed hungry so I gave him formula. I didn't give any this time to dd. My milk came in 2-3 days this time. My dd didn't like the colostrum so she didn't want to nurse much until I got milk. Bf this time has been harder for me. I would just keep trying every few hours to nurse. Good luck.

It can take up to 5 days for milk to come in. Don't give formula, just feed often. They are getting enough colostrum even if it doesn't seem like it. Baby will tell your body how much milk to make so if you are already supplementing your body may make less when it does come in.

Yep put baby on as often and for as long as lo wants. They only hold about a quarter of an oz at that age so they are hungry often.
