Failed 3hour Glucose test ?
I have gestational diabetes ? now I have to stick my finger 4 times a day and log it . I also have to take a class , and go get another ultrasound sound done to check up on baby girl . I pray everything gets better
@sophia , hopefully I can get it under control . This is my second day checking my blood sugar. You wouldn’t believe it , but water has always been my favorite drink lol never started drinking sodas and juice until I got pregnant ? it’s like one thing I crave &’ now water just don’t taste the same to me ? but I take my class Tuesday morning , so hopefully I will soon get the hang of it! ??
I know your pain.
It’s not as bad as it seems honestly. Just follow what your doctor says and drink A LOT of water. As weird as it sounds, you get used to it. You don’t have to start insulin if you can keep everything under control, so relax. After your class you’ll have a whole different perspective about GD and see it as a positive thing maybe.
@mimi , thanks love , I hope everything turns out great for you as well . I don’t know my baby’s position just yet , I will be 30 weeks Tuesday and that’s when I’ll go to the doctor so hopefully they will let me know then. I do know that my babygirl is measuring a week ahead . I’m praying I don’t have a c section either .
I'm in the same boat, love. I hope everything works out for you. I'm almost 33 weeks and have another ultrasound on Monday. Seems like since I was diagnosed baby is getting really big I hope I don't have a c section. Do you know your baby's position? I'm breech and I'm hoping she will turn in time.
@thager , that’s good to hear that everything is on track! Thank you , I’ll be praying for you as well ??❤️☺️
@tonya , I check mine in the morning when I wake up then 2hours after I eat breakfast, 2hours after lunch , 2hours after dinner .
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 14 weeks (checked early due to PCOS) I check my sugar 4x a day, take glyburide and eat according to there carb counts. I have lost 15lbs and baby’s growth is on track. I start twice a week non stress test on Monday (31 weeks) Praying for you ladies!!
I would have had to do this if I hadn't got the specific diabetes nurse help. She said only one of my results was high the rest were within range and it happened the last time I had to take the 3 hour. I just have to watch my diet and eat every 2 to 3 hours I thought about getting a meter so when I think it is low I can check it.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
Really hating today as I get further along in my pregnancy the more angry I get. I have become very resentful of some of my husband's chocies. Anyone else feel this way?
Anyone get eyelash extensions? I have questions
I have GD, and was diagnosed last week. I took the class on Tuesday, and its actually not too bad. Count your carbs, avoid sugars and prick your finger 4 times a day. I have noticed that a little bit of stress throws my numbers off, so remain calm, and don't push yourself too hard. I do struggle with the diet because I love junk... But I went shopping after the class and bought sugar free jam, fit and active bread... And when I want something sweet, I have jam and toast. It hits the spot and is GD diet approved!
