Burping
After a feed baby burps pretty good but once I put him down he'll cry because he needs to be burped more and sometimes(seems like most) it takes me 10-15mins and even after I set him down he'll be burping himself for a good while.
Oh he gets mad :( I hate it! And I feel like i'm teaching him to cry because i'll put him back on the boob after i'm done pumping the letdown! Going to look for the gas drops today~Btw I tried pumping first before feeding him and it never activated the letdown so I think i'm stuck with feeding and pulling him off in time, that or my pump sucks. Extra measures.. oh boy!
I had issues with my 2nd and a heavy let down. Popping them off when letdown starts really helps. Hopefully it doesn't make baby mad. This time around I pump 1st thing in the morning and emptying my breasts 1st thing before I feed seems to have helped with the crazy let down some and I have a freezer stash.
Yay @lynn seems like only baby triggers the letdown and not the pump hah
If you can, let the baby nurse until it triggers your letdown and then remove the baby from your breast for just a bit and let the milk flow, lol. Once the craziness stops you can put baby right back to the breast. I unfortunately also have this and it causes my poor little guy to have really bad gas and foamy poop ? but we've figured a way around it and now he's much better.
I did some research into it and come to find I have overactive letdown.. Milk coming out too fast. ?
If you bottle feeding maybe try another bottle or make sure you have the right size nipple he may be getting to much air. If your breastfeeding make sure his latched correctly. Also you may have to stop him and burp him throughout the feeding and I'd keep him elevated in your arms for about 20 mins after eating before putting him down. That will help the food settle and decrease spit up
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Omg he will spit up sometimes even after I burp him and sit him up for a while after feeding...😐😯
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Do you mommies recommend a pacifier ? I haven't gave one to my son yet. But he just cries so much after I feed, burp, change him..
Do I burp after breastfeeding or is that only for bottle feeding? The nurse told me I shouldn't have to burp after feeding him since there not really air... but I do it to be on the safe side... but it's rare to get him to burp...
He's actually burping and when I lay him down it sounds like more of a long drawn out burp/release of air, that he'll repeat eventually may get hiccups or just choke needing more assistance.
? sorry, but people can actually mistake hiccups with burps? Oh my..
I heard about breastfeeding = little to no burping, though it would be scary not to burp mine so I guess bottle or breast, it goes both ways depending...
I have to say the last couple days of pumping the letdown and giving him mylicon drops, he's been a lot better! Thank you for all the replies, it's helped us a lot!
