Thanks ladies! I thought I was doing something drastic and felt a bit bad, but of course mommy instincts tell me its all fine and purely that is what I mostly go by before anyone's opinions but I had to be sure! ?☺️ the only thing that worries me is getting water in his ears.. Currently i'm going through a little bit of swimmers ear. The soap I use is locally made and baby safe + it has coconut oil in it.. Also idk what i'd do without baths since its so humid and sticky here, i've only had to put jojoba oil on his lips once from all the chapping breastfeeding is doing.
I haven't given him a full bath. He is 12 days old, just sponge baths. Once I do start giving him baths in the tub o will do so 2xs a week and sponge baths in between, after baths I use lotion to moisturize his skin so he doesn't get dried out. I use Cetaphil Baby, CeraVe baby, or SheaMoisture Baby products. My son has sensitive skin and any other products breaks his skin out.
With my first, I listened to my mom and everyone else telling me to bathe her everyday. Well she ended up with really dry skin and severe eczema so this time I'm not making the same mistake. I give her a bath once, maybe twice a week but I do wipe her down before bed and sometimes in the morning.
I googled it also lol!,... I bathe my two week old two times a week and she is as happy as can be, I can't imagine not bathing her at least once a week because if they spit up or puke they start getting a little odor plus my little girl sleeps very well and content after she is bathe
I do a bath every other day even though he isn't too keen still.
