I don’t know how well I buy into this. Only because of course there’s a correlation. Tylenol is the only medications we can really take, and correlation does not necessarily mean causation. It definitely need deeper study but atm I’m pretty skeptical
ETA: I took Tylenol with dd trying to help with hip pain and she spoke clearly and early and hasn’t stopped since lol
This worried me, as I am 27w3d with a girl. And for the past couple weeks I’ve had a terrible toothache and I’ve been taking Tylenol almost every day. But the article said it did the study on women 8w-13w. So maybe just during early pregnancy? I’ve always been worried about autism in my children. As I believe I am a carrier of it. My 2 brothers from my mom have autism, whereas my sister and I do not. I have 2 sons and both have met all milestones and do not seem to have autism. But it’s not like I didn’t take Tylenol with them during pregnancy either? Ahh this article just got me thinking a lot right when I woke up this morning ??♀️ lol
Very interesting. I often wonder why my daughter has taken longer to speak. Is it genetic? Did I do something wrong when I was pregnant? Have I been going about mothering wrong, right now? Could be a combination of all of those or maybe it just happens. We still know so little about the human body, so I do find it very fascinating to read things like this. I wonder why there doesn’t seem to be a correlation between the drug and male language development.
I think studies like this prove how little we actually know about the human body and it’s development. The link between medications and developmental/medical issues in children never surprises me. I would love to see further studies done to try and figure out why it impacts female more than male. Anecdotally, I took Tylenol with my pregnancy with my daughter because of back and hip issues and my daughter has always had a far less advanced grasp of language than my son.
Exactly pp. "Studies" like these just add unnecessary stress on parents. Until there is actual proof, scientific evidence, it's all click bait.
