Fetal doppler

I will be 14w tomorrow. Is it too soon to use the doppler. I tried for a couple minutes this morning but could not find the heartbeat ?

Go lower than you would think you need to. Took me forever to find mine until I went basically right above my pubic bone.

Did you try with a full bladder? That always helps me hear it better. Lately mine has been a lot fainter sounding than it used to be so maybe baby just moved to a weird position.

It just takes practice. This is my 3rd baby and I could find him/her more consistently by 11 wks and now at 13.5 wks I can find the baby really fast.

I am using a 5-6 year old doppler that I used with DS. I need to look up youtube videos to find out where the uterus and baby are.

I found the heartbeat at 8 weeks. It depends on the doppler. And I used YouTube videos to find the hear be at at first but now I can feel where the uterus and baby are so it's pretty easy.

At the point your at I could find it but it was down really low by my pubic bone and was more difficult to find but I could. Im 17 weeks now and still it takes a bit. It helps to figure out where your baby hangs out. For some reason mine hangs out all the way to the left and moves a lot.

Does anyone use a fetal doppler regularly? When did you start consistently hearing the heartbeat? I have a DS but he is nearly 5 and I have forgotten all about using it!

My placenta is posterior. Does anyone know how to feel for the uterus?

Depends on baby and also where your placenta is- mine is anterior and that makes it extra hard to find on a Doppler.
