Has anyone has what looks to be an empty sac at just over or around 6 weeks? I was 6 +2 yesterday and I was told they can only see an empty sac, does anyone have stories of any good outcomes? I have a scan in another week at 7 +2 . I had my hcg drawn and it was at 4,300, it was at 171 17days before that so I make that an increase of only about 50% every 48hours. Any advice would be great, it doesn't sound too good. She said the sac looked healthy, didn't say how far it measured, I also have a retroverted uterus which I know from reading can make scans more difficult xx

Hcg comes from the placenta not the baby so it could go up for a bit even if there's no baby. I'm sorry that happened to me last year around 6 weeks.

My first round of IVF ended in a blighted ovum. We waited a week and when we went back the sac was still empty and was measuring small so at that point we knew it was over. My HCG was doubling but was very low so we had a feeling something was up.
However on our 3rd FET we found out at 6 weeks that we were pregnant with twins but one sac was empty (which was sad for me to see again) and one had a yolk sac at 7 weeks both fetal poles were seen and measuring exactly the same size currently 19 weeks.
It is hard to say how it will turn out but try to stay hopeful because it is possible to be ok, lots of luck to you.

After a certain point hcg stops doubling though- so yours could be totally fine! Did they say if it was low? I don't remember the point at which it stops doubling every 48 hrs

My docs don't even do blood tests. All I had was a pregnancy test and then 8 week scan and I honestly think it caused my less stress. All these tests just cause more anxiety I think x

Thankyou, I'm trying to just think it's so early but after the bloods I don't feel confident. I only had a scan this early because of my history of ectopic x

Mine didn't scan until 8 weeks. It's so small and can cause unnecessary upset. You don't know yet. Try and keep positive x

My RE told me they don't worry about it until week 7. Hang in there mama!

Just wanted to say hang in there. I've been in your shoes and the grey zone is brutal, try to distract yourself as much as you can. My outcomes were not positive however it's certainly still possible that everything will be ok. Some doctors don't even scan until 7 weeks for this reason.
