Activities post embryo transfer.
What did you guys do after transfer? I feel like I want to lay about for a couple of days and do very little (I've taken some time off work) I know they say you can continue with daily activities but for you guys with bfps what did you do?
Thanks girls I have gone for the relaxed approach for transfer day and day after, from tomorrow I will slowly get back to normal xx
For my 2 failed transfers I took 4 days off of work, rested in bed, took it easy and basically did nothing but lie down and relax. For my third transfer I was up and moving around right after, went to work the next day, planned 2 weeks of fun stuff with hubby and friends and carried on with my life as usual. That was actually the one that worked! Go figure! ?
Day of transfer I did nothing but have DH drive me home and sleep (Valium hit me like a load of bricks). The next 2 days I did normal activity around the house (it was a weekend so cleaning, cooking, etc). Then I went back to work.
My RE's office had the guidelines of no sex, no exercise outside of walking, no hot baths, and no heavy lifting until the blood test.
With my 3 cycles that ended in bfps (1 DD, 1 mc and currently 17w), i tried it all. One which i rested for a day and was walking/shopping the next day and flew 7hr flight back home the day after (resulted in my daughter). One cycle i was up to the park walking after 2hrs and flew back home after 2 days (bfp but mc). My most recent i was on bedrest for 3-4 days and im now 17w.
Therefore, i'd say do what makes you feel comfortable and you wont regret later on. Good luck!
I have done 3 transfers all positive outcomes (1 ended in a miscarriage tho) and my clinic says 3 days of bed rest. Day of transfer total bed test, day 2 just hanging around the house maybe out to dinner, day 3 small errands, pedicure, movie and then back to work and everything else after that. There are success stories either way but I figured why not just take it easy. I could feel cramping like the embryo was implanting on day 2 for all 3 transfers. Good luck!
I'm currently in 2ww so I guess if this cycle doesn't work my experience won't count for much! I took it easy for a couple of days, though in saying that we actually travelled a lot and moved to a new country! But I made sure I didn't lift anything heavy, I've been limiting my workouts to walking and cycling with the resistance set very low! Just generally taking it easy. I've read things ranging from people doing absolutely nothing to people carrying on as normal though with BFPs and BFNs so I'm not sure there are any hard and fast rules?! Good luck xx
For a day or two after the transfer I was on "couch potato status" so I was up and about but taking it easy. I actually went on a girls trip and we were all just hanging out at a bean house we rented. After that I went back to normal except for workouts- they said to limit those to brisk walking.
I rested more this time and results were better.the quality of embryos was also better thou. My advice is if your asking should I be doing this your answer is probably no! Good luckxx
