Lotion may help, but you can't fight genetics... and no use fretting over something that's outside your control. Besides, isn't your baby worth it? :-)
It's just upsetting because I have always stayed in shape and kept my body looking nice, and was excited about the challenge of getting my body back after the baby. And now it's like there is no way I can win because even if I lose all my baby weight I will never be able to get rid of the stretch marks. I'll get over it, it just sucks.
I'm having twins so I know I will get them for sure. It's just a matter of when. Sometimes no matter what you do, genetics wins. The only good news is that they do lighten up as time goes on.
My are only on my right side as well but mine don't have any color to them. I think they are only over there cause I lay on my left side so much. I use belly balm from Burt's bees. You should try it I only have like one going up my side this stuff really works!
The lotion is useless. My dermatologist told me that it doesn't go deep enough to help at all. It's all genetic and there isn't much you can do other than laser treatment after the pregnancy.
Consider yourself lucky to be having a healthy baby thriving in there and think of all of the women who would give anything to have your problem!
I hear lots of water can help, doesn't mean it'll prevent them - just like the lotions don't... Internal hydration helps a lot though from what I've been told :)
I have just one on my hip and it's small. I know I'll end up with more :(( but I use Mama Bees belly butter and Palmers oil for stretch marks, at the same time :)) if anything it helps the itching but yea I'll be really upset if I get any more :(
It sucks, but if you get them you get them, some are just lucky. The only thing you can do is moisturize and try not to overgain to try and control the number, and I would use the lotions for them to help them fade faster. It blows but I PROMISE they fade ALOT

Your carrying a child. If anyone doesn't like the stretch marks tell them not to look. It's nothin to feel ashamed about.

Just moisturize I use bio oil yeah it will help diminish some of it! Its what comes with pregnancy I feel the same way sometimes!

Keep putting the Palmers lotion and DONT SCRATCH, they dont need to spread neccesarely

Don't worry! At least your stretch marks are baby induced and not weight gain in general induced :)
As a fellow stretch mark victim I'll offer a little advice and hope :)
1. Any of those gradual self tanning lotions worked like magic at reducing my stretch marks
2. Sounds weird but...deoterant on the stretch mark...my dr told me to try that one and they went down too
3. Both 1 and 2 took care of the stretch marks I got on my legs after too many rounds of prednisone for asthma and rapid water weight gain.
