Cloth diaper help
My cloth diapers stink! I was using Charlie Banana brand detergent but for the last couple of months I've used Tide and now they smell bad. Sometimes it's more of a musty smell, sometimes jt smells like they werent washed.

You might have to get some washer cleaner and do a cycle with only the cleaner in it. My friend had the same problem smell and she did a few cycles with the washer cleaner and now it doesn't smell anymore.

Also, is this smell right out of washer or after they are dried? We use a hanging rack but it can make them smell musty if there is too much humidity in the air.
All good questions from Pp though.

What kind of stink are we talking about too? Kinda barnyard smell, or the ammonia type smell?
Eta: I fully second going to visit fluff love and cloth diaper science.

Have you checked out fluffloveuniveesity.com? They also have a Facebook for trouble shooting called fluff love & cd science.
Right off the bat I don't believe Charlie Banana is a recommended detergent. Also extra rinses and such aren't good either. You generally want a prewash, and main wash with a good mainstream detergent. You might also need a water softner depending on your water hardness.

Are you using enough soap?

What is your wash routine exactly? I can help more if I know what it is.

Is it all your clothes or just the diapers? Washing machines grow mold in them and need regularly cleaned. Front opening washing machines need extra cleaning as well because of needing to move the sealing that shuts the door.
