I used baby wash rags and water for pee diapers. For poop I used disposable wipes. Except while breastfeeding then wash rags were fine for that too.

I like Thirsties wipes and so does DH, we've bought several other brands and used baby wash cloths and the thirsties were ten times better than any of the others. I use baby bits as a wipe solution :) I've had the same box for months and it doesn't look like I'll need another anytime soon.
