Cluster feeding?

How long should lo cluster feed for? I've seen a LC and am doing everything she said to do and the round the clock feedings have stopped. Ds is cluster feeding for about 4 and 1/2 hours. I went to the kelly blog/site about breastfeeding and it says that cluster feeding normally happens in the evening from around 6 to 10.

My son used to nurse for 3 hours at bed time every night for the first few months of his life. I just feed on demand and don't think about whether it's what anyone says is "normal" but my butt sure was glued to the couch.

This is good. I was worried I was over feeding him. People just kept saying feed him whenever he wants it. Which has been literaly like 3 oz every hour or two.

On the blog it said it's common in all babies.

I'm glad it's normal. I'm having some minor producing problems and I really want breastfeeding to work out.

@brirusso i would think so as its their way of gaining weight for the growth spurt

That's a thing? Can formula feeders do it? My son eats almost non stop at nights. Like it's horrible.

Completely normal. I was a zombie the first 3 months for each baby.

Sounds normal to me. The length and times will change as baby grows as long as there are enough dirty dipes and lo is growing just go with the flow.

@pp it is when a baby feeds back to back in order to up mothers milk supply for an upcoming growth spurt
