anyone with anxiety disorders?

I've been on 20mg lexapro, 100mg wellbutrin, and 2mg klonopin daily for about 8 months for SEVERE panic disorder. I was also on birth control when I found out I was pregnant, so this was a surprise for my husband and I. I've been in therapy for about 2 months now, but it's too soon for me to tell a difference. I quit taking the antidepressants immediately (I'm sure that wasn't the smartest decision now). I've managed to wean myself down to .5-1mg on klonopin daily or every other day, but now I'm experiencing nightmarish panic attacks again. They were so bad at one point, I didn't leave my house for a straight year. Yes, a year. I know this medication is category D and you're not supposed to stop it suddenly. My family doctor refuses to refill my antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds and told me to discuss it with my OB. My appointment isn't until the 2nd, but I'm terrified of what I'm doing to my baby and terrified of the stress that the attacks will do to him/her. Anyone have experience with this medication(s) during their pregnancies?

I have severe severe panic disorder. to the point some days I can't drive or barely function! I'm 29 weeks and I don't know how I'm going to do this. I honestly feel like I'll be better once I deliver but I too am on Klonopin bc I was on it for years before I got pregnant. I'm supposed to be getting back on my lexapro bc I got off when I found out. I pray it helps bc this anxiety is really tearing me apart.

I also have panic disorder as well as OCD and take 100mg of zoloft. I will be weaning in the 3rd trimester to prevent persistent pulmonary hypertension in the baby.

Ok so I'm supposed to be on anti anxiety medication. I went to a psychiatrist about 5 years ago for ADHD medicine and you know how they make you take those tests to see what issues you got well my anxiety was wayyyy up there and the doctor told me she thought I should really be on meds for it but my mom told them no we're not here for that no thank you so I've been just dealing with it. Well I just had my baby in November and I've been having these bad impulsive thoughts in my head whenever my child is screaming and crying and it scared me and I didn't know why I was thinking like that. I would never harm my baby but I'll have thoughts like that and it's not like I want to but I've been feeling so messed up about it and cry and think I'm a monster well I looked it up on google and it's post partum OCD and if you have any kind if anxiety or OCD issues you are really likely to have it so you probably should keep taking your medication because if you start having thoughts like wanting to be aggressive towards your baby or you constantly think your baby is going to die from SIDS it's not a good thing and it's going to drive you crazy!! I've been thinking i was so messed up in the head but I looked it up and it's not my fault. Anyways you don't want to experience that either so you definitely should take your medications. I'm going to try to see my obgyn and talk to him about this because it's honestly so embarrassing I get scared no one is going to understand and want to take my child away... Especially my husband... I don't think he would understand...but anyways yea keep getting medication for it.

I have dealt with anxiety depression and panic attacks. I was on meds for two years. One day I cut cold turkey...but I also removed myself from all the negative in my life. I kept myself busy taking online classes and working out and my son. I had the hardest time sleeping with night mares and sweating! I started reading on healthy sleep habits and melatonin. It took a long time for me to get my sleep back and better.

I am now a therapist and on no meds for 4 yrs now. I have dealt with a few times and episodes but what has helped me the most is becoming very educated about anxiety depression and panic attacking. The more I read about them and heard others struggle the more I became in control. Running/working out was also a great help.

I still had episodes of panick attacks that were severe every now and then but I learned from them and it's been 1.5 yrs since I have had another one. I'm an advocate for pyschoeducation diet and fitness. I also agree every person works differently and meds might be the best option but I say try the natural stuff. In ur life first. Let me know if u need support or resources. I'm happy to help!

I'm on zoloft for panic disorder and OCD. Zoloft is safe but I have to wean in 3rd trimester to avoid baby getting persistent pulmonary hypertension.

I was always on effexor. Took my last 2 prwgnancyz. Was told it was completely safe. However my first son was born with intestine problems and my youngest has vsd. Whether it has anything to do with me taking meds or not I'm not doing it. I don't trust medications during pregnancy no matter what the dr says. And defffff not take the PRNs like Xanax klonopin Valium or ativan. They are really not safe-

I have hyperthyroidism caused by graves diseasr which causes me to have anxiety and panic attacks out of know where. I am taking 1 to 2 mg of xanax a day depending on how bad. My dr said it would be worse if i just stopped because it would cause to much stress.

I'm in your same boat. I am suffering. I have no support. I want to take the meds..the Dr wants me on meds...all three of my Dr's. Im a 38 yr old diabetic with asthma. But my SO feels that even asprin will hurt the baby and wont I "feel bad" if something is wrong down the line. OMG these smug a****** s..who have never dealt with a mental disorder and the stigma. They have no clue.

It's hard. I'd love to say..Take it all. Take anything you can to keep you sane and stable. But in the end its up to you. If you have even one family member in your corner..lean on them. I pray we all make it..us and our babies.

Good luck:)

I just talked to my ob/gyn about this yesterday. I would call your dr's office and tell them what mess you are taking, they may get you in earlier. They did with me.

So ?? Ladies it is ok to take wellbutrin when pregnant my doctor just prescribed me 150 mg just before i found out i was pregnant i didn't start taking it yet cause i want to talk to my doctor first but any suggestions

Oh gosh. Yeah, stopping those meds was a bad idea! I did the same (on Zoloft and Valium) and it was a nightmare for me in the end of the second and third trimesters. I also had BAD post partum depression after. I would really suggest discussing it with your OBGYN, if he/she doesn't have significant experience in the matter then try to get recommended to someone who does. Valium is a class D is as well but I will be taking it through this pregnancy on my specialist's advice. Class D sounds scary but it's really the amount and other meds that you're taking that make the difference... definitely have a chat about it!

I use to have bad panic attacks. They'd come out of nowhere. With my last pregnancy I was on Zoloft and taking 1 mg of klonopin sometimes twice daily. My doctor knew, and we both knew it was a category d drug. I took it throughout my pregnancy and my son is fine. I'm not too sure what the risk is to the baby of taking it though.

This time around, I've needed klonopin one time. I weaned myself off of that and my cymbalta. I kept forgetting to take it on a daily basis and I felt great so i weaned off. I was working out a lot and hard and eating right and that seemed to do the trick for my depression and anxiety. Now that I'm not working out like that, I think it's time to go back on something.

I've always had anxiety and panic attacks. But was never on anything for it. Whenever I was pregnant with my first, my panic attacks became extreme to say the least. My doctor put me on something for it. I was so thankful... It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through.

I am 8 weeks preggers and am taking 20mg fluoxetine daily for depression/anxiety. I am 38 and this is my first and have suffered since age 18 with a depressive Illness. I discussed at length with my psych meds during pregnancy and made the decision to come off lithium a mood stabiliser but stay on fluoxetine as it is low risk. I had to way up the risk of having a depressive episode whilst pregnant and following childbirth. I have been suicidal in the past and I cannot risk this with my unborn child or my husband.

It is a personal decision and you have to make a decision based on the benefits outweighing the negatives. God willing I will have a healthy pregnancy and baby. I am praying daily for this and have to trust the Lord.

Am due Sep 3rd all being well......

Good luck and do what is right for you your family and baby xxx

Hi im on .125mg of klonopin and 100mg of zoloft for anxiety and depression. I was told that the antidepressant is safe and I intend to stay on it through my pregnancy rather than suffer with depression and withdrawals but i know the anti anxiety pills are not safe and i have tapered down from 1mg for the past year but the last quarter of a pill is the hardest to get off. Dont ever come off cold turkey or too fast from these drugs as the withdrawal symptoms are horrendous!
