Is it bad that i dont want anyone to kiss my baby's face when he's born? Maybe just not while he's an infant? I just dont want people to make my baby sick, and i kinda have a thing with germs. I know its going to upset alot of people. Am i being crazy or is this reasonable?

Not crazy and not a bad request. I’m gonna request that people give me atleast 2-4 weeks before they see my baby.

I don’t think it’s bad at all. Dh and I just had this discussion and he says he’s “ok” with family members kissing our baby in the face and I still said heck no.. I don’t care who it is No one is kissing my baby’s face.

I mean, if someone has a cold sore...not crazy. But I’ve had two kids and see people kiss their heads but never really their faces. But I’m a proponent for exposing babies to germs.

I totally just got into a fight with my grandma about this a few weeks back... she gets cold sores and I said no kissing my baby’s head or hands and she wasn’t too thrill with that... but I honestly won’t let anyone kiss close to my baby’s face.. I’m gonna be a crazy mom and I know it

Nope. There are some scary stories going around about sick family members kissing kids.

I am the exact same way. & on my DH side of the family they have issues with both cold sores & fever blisters, so even as my kids get older fam knows I will flip my script if they even attempt to kiss my kids face. We have 3 already so they already know the drill when the twins come. Honestly if you mention it a little at a time throughout pregnancy it's usually not such a shock at the end. & usually if you give reasons why most folks agree with your logic. I say usually and most bc we all have a crazy person or two in the fam, lol :)

I think its reasonable lol, hell I don’t even want people to get too close or touch my babies ??♀️
My youngest just turned 1 yr old & I HATE when people touch her without permission, it’s disgusting....I dont know whats on their hands or where they have been. I keep wipes, hand sanitizer, & disinfectant spray on deck at all times.

A few people on my side and my so side get cold sores. I did mention it to my grandma because she gets cold sores and she said it was rude to tell people that, and that she was going to kiss my baby anyway which made me mad. But i dont think ill let anyone touch my baby without washing and sanitizing their hands. I definitely will not let anyone kiss my baby. It's my baby and i dont want people spreading their nasty germs to my baby. Lol and if they think that's rude then too bad. lol I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I think it’s absolutely reasonable. I think it’s actually rude when people kiss my babies; my kids are 5 & 2 now and still don’t allow people to kiss my kids. It won’t be any different with this baby. People might think I’m mean but, It’s just the way I am and they are my kids and I appreciate it if people respect that & people should respect your decision also!

No not at all and I personally believe it’s disgusting to put your lips on an infants face let alone anywhere because they are new to the world and can be exposed to germs/ sickness really easy (sorry being pregnant I’m such a Butt hole) lol but no I have 3 children and I’m so big on that. Adults do adult things and it’s just nasty to kiss someone’s baby . Don’t feel bad to tell someone don’t kiss your baby, blame it on the doctor say the doctor said it’s not good until baby is older.

Not at all its a good practice.

I didn’t let people kiss my baby. I barely let anyone visit us for the first 5-6weeks with my first 2 kids and it will be the same with this one.
