any successful VBAC stories??...

any successful VBAC stories??...

I had a C-section with my daughter 11 years ago because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck several times and the same doctor this time around says I will automatically have to have one with this daughter, so I'm thinking of switching doctors over this. So are there any success stories of VBAC out there??...

After 11 years there should be no problem with trying for a vbac.. I had a successful vbac after 6 years but I had to fight for it and find a doctor willing to let me try. At the hospital While in labor several on call OBs told me I was being selfish and went as far as to put me in a evaluation room instead of a birthing room because it was closer to the OR and "I was going to end up with a c-section anyway". I maintained that as long as my baby and myself were doing ok I would not consent to an unnecessary surgery. And demanded a birthing room. I also came prepared with a birthing plan. Fortunately at the time of my daughters birth my doctor was there and supported me in my decision. Two years later and my current pregnancy there is no push for a c-section as I had a successful vbac. This is your birth and your experience. Don't let anyone guilt you into anything. They say it's hard to successfully have a vbac but the real challenge is standing up for yourself and that you know what is best for you and your baby and even if that means choosing a c-section later. As long as it's your choice. Good luck mama!!!

My children are always breech if the haven't turned over early. I was lucky enough to have a vbac with my second child only 2 years after my first C-section. She was born within 2 hours of me getting to the hospital. No complications and she came out perfect! Good luck!

There shouldn’t be a problem, my sister in law had a c-section and a year later she gave birth naturally, so her two daughters are just 1 yr apart ?

There shouldn’t be a reason why you can’t attempt a vbac I did after only 18 months and everything went just fine. Fight for what you won’t mama

@pp I think the concern is with scar tissue and tearing during delivery possibly causing death... But I am on the ball this morning called 10 different offices just to be turned down that they don't do VBAC and finally I found one! And I got an appointment the following hour ??? so I've been in the office for awhile and feeling very confident I found a new doctor ?

I know the doctors make more money off a C-section as well, I just don't want them to make money off my body and delivery like that if it's not absolutely necessary..... A C-section for me was very hard to heal from if I can avoid it and it's not medically necessary then I do not want one at all lol

Exactly! I feel doctors all they care is to get paid more. I haven't considered changing doctors because he has delivered my 2 children and I have a history of 16+years with my OBGYN. It sucks..i was actually thinking just to go into labor pon my own and not scheduling c section. I hated the recovery time and healing with my one and only c section I was traumatized by my experience.

I totally hear you on that.. My previous doctor now delivered my two children as well so I was very hesitant about changing doctors but I did it and I feel good that I did, I feel very confident in my decision plus the hospital is closer to my house which feels right ?
