disappointed big sister to be having a little sister
Did anyone else have a disappointed child when they found out you weren't having the gender of baby THEY were hoping for?? For a little brother or sister?? ???

My 3 year old is excited about becoming a big sister but she says almost every day "but I wanted a baby sister!" Or "he's supposed to be a girl!!!". I'm hoping she will be okay once he actually gets here in December.

Haha yes! We got DD's reaction on camera, it was pretty funny. Her exact words were, 'I don't want a stinky brother, he's annoying'. ??

My son just didn't want a sibling at all. At the hospital my husband was holding him looking at our new baby girl and goes that's your baby sister. We are going to be taking her home. My son looks at him and goes "no". Hubby argues back and goes yes we have to take her home. My son put his hands on my hubbys cheeks and shakes his head going "noooooo". Now they are best friends. He's not going to be happy when he understands that there's another on the way.

My 8 year old was devastated when we found out I was having a boy. We took the kids with us to the ultrasound. She cried inconsolably and refused to even talk about the baby for weeks. He's 11 months now and she absolutely adores him.

My daughter just turned 3 on Saturday and our newest baby is almost 4 months old. We didn't find out the gender until the birth and throughout my whole pregnancy she wanted a little sister. I thought for sure she would be devastated if it ended up being a boy. We would ask her all the time, what if baby is a boy? And you just say no, it's a girl! Our baby ended up being a boy, but she was just as excited as if he was a girl. It was so cute though, when I had him we went in her bedroom and woke her up so she could come into our room and meet him and we told her that it was a boy. When she got to our room and met him she goes, "Are you sure it's a boy?" Haha. She absolutely loves him to pieces though and she always calls him "her baby". Every morning when she gets out of bed she goes, "My baby is so cuuuuute!"

Yes! My 9 yr old really wanted a sister. She has two brothers and 3 step brothers (from her dads wife) so she was extremely upset when she found I was having another boy giving her 3 brothers. She cried and I felt terrible!
The icing on the cake is her dad recently announced him and his wife are having a boy too! So 3 step brothers, and 4 brothers! Poor thing!

Dd was devastated when she found out she was having a brother. All she wanted was a sister. She loves him now. He's 2 months old today and she loves helping take care of him

My son was sad we were having a girl
He wanted someone to play cars with and he thought the baby was going to make him wear dresses ?
Now that he's 5 and she's 9 months they are so attached
Every time I pick him up from school dd starts grabbing him and laughing
And he's super gentle with her
Now when I ask him if he wants a brother he says no. That he likes just the baby and wants no more
