So I know this is a controversial subject and I'd really really like it if the negative comments were kept to yourselves lol but I am wanting to start my three month old on rice cereal with breastmilk , she has already tried bananas and likes them (I only give her about a teaspoon at a time not a whole lot she tells me when she's done ) but have any of you mamas done this ? Was it a success ? She's just not satisfied with only my breast any more she's always on my boob it's making it hard for me to do things around the house :/ and I am strongly trying to avoid formula I just don't have the money to buy it and I rather her just start on cereals than supplementing , thank you :)
WIC should cover all your formula. You just need to tell them that youre not able to breastfeed anymore(even though you can still continue for as long as you want).
I dont think theres anything wrong with her tasting food. However, I would not yet have that as a source of nutrition yet. Babies need all kinds of healthy fats for brain development that you just dont get from fruits/veggies/cereals.
Fed is best. So I would suggest transitioning to formula with the assistance of WIC instead of supplementing with food just yet.
I started mine on oatmeal at 9 weeks per pediatrician's recommendation. She said rice cereal is no longer recommended and to never put cereal in their bottles. (I think research has determined it could cause a choking issue) We mix breast milk with the oatmeal and he eats it from a baby spoon. He doesn't eat a huge amount but it keeps him a little more satisfied and I am getting up 3-4 times overnight instead of 5-6. He sleeps anywhere from 5-6 hours when he goes to be for the night and is up every few hours after that. I give him the oatmeal around 12:00 PM and again around 6:00 PM. Hope this helps!
She opens her mouth for food most definitely , she doesn't push it back out with her tongue either and she sits up with assistance which is what the box says for the baby cereal so I mean she has all the requirements I'm gonna talk with her nutritionist at her next wic appointment on the 20th and see if they will add the cereal to my card for her I'm hoping they will she's been on my boob all day every hour or so
I would have honestly started her with the breastmilk and rice cereal first lol But I don't see why it would be an issue... I've heard doctors recommend parents to mix a little cereal in with formula in bottles of all things on many occasions. As long as she has the motor skills to eat from a spoon I don't see what the big deal is starting solids a little early.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I just had a wic appointment for her and they said I could start giving her baby food at four months she loves food and I believe she is ready :) she breastfeeds just as much she normally would just not as much in the morning she went through a huge growth spurt and now she is just wanting to comfort instead of self soothe with her hands or binky
