As pp already said, its usually caused by milk / moisture on the rolls.
Others suggested not putting anything, but i believe that it is irritated and will cause discomfort for the child so i'd apply cream such as sudocream. Thats what i applied for my child when she was a baby.
Since its this bad i think u need to apply sudocream
But dw its very common alot of moms dnt know that
Babies need their neck folds ,behind ears, armpits, fingers and toes and the creases inbetween next to the genital area and behind the knees need to be dryed very well after a bath then some cornstarch powder not talc should be applied
Also use a wash cloth inbetween baths wet it and do those areas at least once or twice a day
My daughters neck looked similar to this but luckily we were at the dr that day and she pointed it out. It was from milk. She had to get a cream and we had to put it on her neck. I felt so bad. Thought I always got everything and never saw anything dribbled down. Does it have a yeasty smell to it?
I never thought to watch for milk because I breastfeed. I sound dumb don't I? Ugh...I guess I didn't think any really dripped to his neck.
My baby got that too but not as dark, after just 12 hours (until I learned to clean her neck better). She gets a lot of milk trapped in there and sometimes her clothes Irritate her neck. Usually whenever she eats, I wipe it with a wipe after and it stopped happening.
Don't feel bad. Even when I clean her neck all the time it can still happen from her clothes. I usually just air it out. I haven't put anything on it.
I swear I felt something come off in the bath but didn't see what it was. I guess it could've been milk too. Idk it just looks like it hurts ?
I put some ointment on it that my mom gave me. I was wondering if there was anything else I could use on it. Would coconut oil work?
Dd had the same thing. Make sure to dry it after feeding. Use a bib if you can each time, when I fed her the bib would get soaked every time from dribbling milk though, so make sure you dry it thoroughly. What helped for her was to make sure to keep it clean and dry. I used butt paste on it once and that just made it worse.
As soon as she was able to start holding her head up more often it went away for good. The little chub rolls don't get any air until they can hold their head up on their own.
