If you pull the chest clip down to his stomach, tighten the straps and then pull his chest clip up that should make the middle section tighter as well.

No they were pretty tight. I see that they do look loose in the picture though.

Looks good to me. Can you pinch the straps? They look like they may be slightly loose. But Omg your baby is so cute! Makes me want another newborn now!! :)
