Omg- am I the only one in shock that it's a big deal drinking tap water?!?! We do not live in a third world country- it's America. The water is safe to drink- it's a preference of taste, not a safety question.

I don't drink tap water even when I'm not pregnant. I live near Philadelphia-the water tastes like dirty socks. Lol

I live in California & i drink it on rare occasion! Idk if its safe or not tho, its most likely not.

Usually i just drink Smart Water because it tastes good to me.

I live in Cali. I would never drink tap water in a lot of cities here bc there are nitrates in the water. That is not safe for anyone not even animals. If you live near a high cattle or farming area where they collect rain or use well water I would say never drink it. Boiling won't get rid of nitrates. Here is the info on nitrates.

I drink it where we live without even filtering it but at my DH's mom's house 8 hrs away it has a different chemical composition/is hard and I hate the taste! So when we visit I buy a gallon or 2 of bottled to get me through

No. The city i currently live ins water tastes like it comes straight from the high school pool.

The city i grew up and now live next to has a high cancer rates. Erin brokovitch(spelling) was even going to come a few years back. One of the water treatment plants and tower is even on a garbage dump. The dump is covered with dirt and still tests high for contaminates. They even built a park on it......

That being said i think these are weird circumstances and a lot of tap water is fine.

I live somerset, England and we have very good tap water. However while pregnant I hate the taste so I drink bottled. I use tap water for anything other than drinking just water

I don't drink or cook with tap water. Unless boiling pasta. I have a water service.

I don't drink tap, but it's because I have hard water, the residue and taste throws me off. I still cook with it though, I don't think it's unsafe, just a taste preference. I can't drink spring water either, it's too soft and sweet for me. Lol.

Yes, but I live in a rural area with a community well that is amazeballs. It's delicious, and has minimal chemicals. My mother lives in town and I won't touch her water. It smells terrible.

I also live in Oregon and I drink our tap water. I don't mind it at all, but I agree with not drinking other states tap water. Especially Nevada!

Depends on what is attached to the other end of the faucet we have a reverse osmosis filtration system from the well... so yes, but anywhere else, I didn't.

I live in Canada and the water is perfectly safe. I think bottled water is one of the biggest scams. Paying for something that's free? Never mind the insane amount of waste! I'm drinking copious amounts of tap water while pregnant. So far my baby appears to have 2 arms and 2 legs. Fingers crossed.

Ew. I live in Bakersfield, Cali and I can smell the chlorine in the water when I turn on the tap. I like bottled water but distilled is my fav.

Im in California and usually drink bottled water. But...I ran out earlier and I'm thirsty. Lol. I just don't wanna go to the store at this hour if a glass of tap won't harm my baby.

I always drink tap water. I live in Oregon so we have really good water, but I live in the best county for freshest water. I can always tell the difference when I go somewhere different and drink that water, even a different town. If I'm out of state for some reason I hate drinking anything but bottled water though, I can't stand California water or even Nevada

Idk maybe something is wrong with me but I see no difference between certain waters and others...... Like to me water is water. I know all the arguments and blah blah and I have tasted some NASTY tap water. But to be honest my tap water is great (which I am thankful for that) and I can drink whatever kind of bottled water just the same.... I drink my tap water, pregnant or not, and even my doctor has said this is okay. I am careful with other tap water but mine is fine.
