Wow! 6 cm dilated and sent home?!

Ya im super pissed off. Oh and to top it off they did an ultrasound and baby is so low in my pelvis you cant even see him on the machine!!!

He'll be here tomorrow. Sounds like labor to me. At 5 I was told to stay.

6cm?! And home?! I think that's crazy. Are u able to go to another hospital for a 2nd opinion...hoping they keep u.

Sounds dangerous, but I'm not a doctor. There must be some reason they did this, were they overcrowded or something? It seems strange. At 6cm and 1-2 min apart contractions should take you just four more hours give or take usually to dilate to 10.

I wouldn't want my baby to come out just yet if it was me. Hopefully baby waits a while or hurry up n ur case. Gl

Thinking about it, they may not have had enough staff for you to be there at that time. That's the only "logical" reason I can think of!

A friend was 5cm battling preterm labor off & on until they induced her at 39 weeks.... after 5 previous children she ended up with a cesarean for failure to progress.

I know it's frustrating. Try to not stress.

I hope you are not too far from the hospital! With my first I was 4 cm at 4am and 10cm at 8 am then she was born at 10am.

Thanks ladies, i got about 2 hrs of sleep last night off and on, im definitely in lots of pain. The next closest hospital is an hour away so we might try them for a second opinion. My hospital is only 5 min away from my house. I believe my hospital is short staffed or neededml more room, which is why this happened, my grandpa os in the icu and was also moved last night to a much smaller room due to not having enough rooms. She did tell me whe. Labor starts at this stage it will go very fast(as if i wasnt already stressed about being home) so we will see how it goes in a couple hrs and if i still hurt husband and i will go to the next town.

I was 6cm dilated and was sent home too but my contractions weren't as often as yours. I agree with you they probably shouldn't have discharged you.

I was 8 cm at 39 weeks with my last baby and not technically in labor. I went home. And then when labor really did start it still took 7 hours to have that baby! I know it's frustrating, but I'm sure that baby will come really soon!!

If you're 6cm dilated i would have thought you'd be delivering within next 24-48 hours at most.

I'll be delivering in malaysia at a private hospital and my ob has strict rules that i'm to be admitted if my water breaks or "loss of bloody show and contractions are 30mins apart", reason being its a humid country and risk of infection is higher and my ob rather monitor his patients sooner so there is ample time to avoid unnecessary medical interventions or potential complications etc or you delivering bubs otw to hospital etc.
