Solids
When are y'all offering them? Caellum's pediatrician said today that I can offer at 4 months if he's got good head control in his high chair and seems interested. I know I'm going to get a lot of different answers and it depends on mama and baby, but I'm curious! I'm not sure what I will do yet. Definitely nothing until 4 months but I've also read to start at 6. Discuss.
I started my older daughter on solids at four months old. I will try black at four months as well and see how it goes. My daughter didn't like baby cereal or baby food so I did what my sister did and started her on mashed and minced food. I skipped puree completely. It's funny cause when I seen Facebook pictures of her giving her son food I thought she was crazy. I can't lie I was afraid of her choking but here she is two in November and she's beautiful and healthy.
Trisha, it is crazy! Can't believe how big all our babies are getting. Time is flying.
Im starting my baby at about 3.5 months only a tablespoon or so at a time and only one to 2 times a day . her ped. Thinks it may help with her acid reflux ... I will start with one thing at a time will prob stick with basic oatmeal and stay with that till 6 months . maybe add apple sauce about 5 months with the oatmeal! .i say whatever baby is ready for and has the ability to handle go for it . you know baby best and know what he is or isn't ready for ..
So crazy we all went from talking about when we go into labor to when our babies will be eating solids ???? they grow so fast
I plan to start at 6 months but I swear my mom has let my 2 month old lick popcorn and bananas and my daughter is greedy enough to actually do it and gets mad when my mom removes it from her face ??♀️ *side bar because I know someone will say something* this doesn't happen a lot and I've talk to my pediatrician he says she's fine as long as she doesn't actually swallow any and doesn't have a lot.
We will do baby led weaning starting at 6 months. There are links to starting solids too soon and obesity and diabetes and since breastmilk provides everything my baby needs until then, I see no point. We will avoid sugary starches like rice, and start with nutrient dense foods. I'm a firm believer that feeding puréed foods (baby food) with a spoon is pointless and can possibly inhibit their development. With BLW they are fully capable of picking up their own food and feeding themselves. It's way easier too, just feed them what you eat minus things they shouldn't have like salt and sugar. It also has been known to prevent picky eaters because they get used to different textures early.
I will still breastfeed until at least a year if I'm fortunate enough to continue to do so. I'm considering breastfeeding until about 18 months.
I did some reading this past few weeks and decided that I will start around 4.5 months but only if I'm happy with the way she sits in her regular high chair.
She still does a lot of leaning forward in her sit me up chair and I wouldn't be comfortable feeding her in that position.
Not sure what I will start with. Need to do some more reading on that part. It's between veggies and starches for starters.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Can I give 4 month old baby 2 ounces juice???
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
