Mucus plug
So I started losing bits of my mucus plug & I know it's normal and can regenerate. The nurse told me it can happen and I still go to 41 weeks (I hope not). But I'm just curious what anyone else's experience with losing it early was in the past, did you still carry until a full 40 weeks? Or did you go a bit early?
Saw my ob just now and he confirmed the white jellyfish type discharge i been losing the past week is definitely mucus plug and that i should be now and then cramping at pelvic and cervix abdominal area. My next appt is in 2 weeks as dr knows i will come in moment water breaks or i have a bloody show combined with regular contractions 30mins apart.
He didn't even bother checking my cervix as he knows i have the signs thigs are progressing as they should
For me it's the bloody show that let me know I would be delivering my babies soon. Both for my daughter and son I was having them a few hours after the bloody show. The mucous plug can be a sign labor is coming but like you said it can regenerate so it's not reliable. Just wait for the contractions and bloody show. My mucous plug just started to come out. I will notify my doctor at my next appointment on May 8th. At my last appointment my cervix was still high and closed. At my last appointment baby girl still wasn't turned so I'm hoping next appointment she will be.
With my 1st i don't recall losing it and 3 days b4 due date dr did a membrane sweep but confirmed i was 100% effaced and 2.75cm dilated and about to go into labor anyways and about 5 hours later had bloody show and following morning too. Later that evening admitted to hospital as was 3.75cm dilated and had bubs next after being induced.
I noticed losing chunks of mucus plug but its white or tad off white at times since 2 days ago but onlynhaving cramps at pelvis. My next appt is tomorrow so curious if i have dilated or effaced, i'll let you know if i have but not sure if i'll go to due date or deliver before... can't wait to meet my little man
Shannae, I guess that's the common practice through military medical as long as the pregnancy isn't high risk. It really annoys me though. I called them today and they basically told me I should be fine and what to look out for. And that they hope to see me at 36 weeks ?. I'm going to annoy the hell out of them if I even have the smallest problems though since they don't do 2 week appointments.
Wow they didn't start u on every other week appointments yet? That's weird.
But with my first I started losing mine at 34 weeks. I had to be induced at 41 weeks.
With my second I didn't lose it at all.
With my third I may have lost very lil around 36weeks but I went over 6 days.
I know ur not worried. A girl in my group in 2015 lost hers at 38 weeks and her baby come that same day just hours later. She said it was huge like the size of a tennis ? ball.
This is my third pregnancy. With my other two basically once I lost my mucus plug the baby came within a week. I lost a piece of it earlier in this pregnancy and everything seems to be fine . I think everyone is different. With my son I lost my mucus plug in full and the next day my water broke . with my daughter I lost it in pieces and within a week my water broke.
Breelik, for me it just looked like snot that was tinged with blood. My mom sent a pic of it to my cousin who is a nurse & she confirmed that it was what it was. You can look pictures up on Google, but some of the pics look pretty gross.
Iluvbabies, yeah like I said earlier I'm not really worried. But I think they should know and I do have questions to ask. My next appointment isn't even until 36 weeks, which is 4 weeks from now. I kind of think I should be seen sooner than that.
It's really ok to be losing it now. Go in if you see lots of mucousy blood or you get contractions that are staying consistent in length, frequency and grow in pain. If you see a little blood in the mucus it means capillaries are bursting which means your cervix is getting ready which can take weeks. A lot of time at the end is spent waiting and wondering...
I haven't had any contractions, cramping, or heavy bleeding. Just lost snotty looking bits that were blood-tinged but not a whole lot. I called L&D and they basically told me not to worry. Tried to call my OB office to let them know but keep getting the run around when I try to talk to my provider. I'm not worried, but I have a lot of questions :/
I lost it and three days later my water started leaking. I kept going into preterm labor that started at 32 weeks. I kept having contractions- no pain- only knew it because they showed in the non stress testing and they kept sending me to L&D. Long story short I lost parts of my mucus plug and had my son within a week.
I am having my third baby and got checked Monday at doc. 34 weeks then and already a 2 and thinning with baby ready. After that i spotted some then I've been losing my plug since Monday night. No contractions but i got steroid shot as my second child was born exactly 36 weeks. I'm anxious to know when baby will come lol
FTM and i've been losing my mucus plug since Monday.. I had an appointment today at 34+5 and my midwife does not think i'll be making it to 40 weeks! my contractions have also been getting worse as well? (I started getting contractions at 32 weeks) however no dilation yet - my cervix is thinning
I guess it all depends how much you're losing and if you're experiencing contractions with it.
I've lost mine for weeks before labor and delivery....but this being your first you can't know for sure how quickly things will go for you. All you can do is monitor it like everything.
Sometimes it can just mean your cervix is preparing for labor and sometimes it can mean labor is imminent....it's case by case.
Ladybug, I was hoping it was a small sign he would not go past his due date lol. I don't want him early, but I also don't want to go over ?. I'm 32w4d
When did you Mommies lose your mucus plug???🤔 I still haven't lost mines

okay when do you lose your mucus plug?I still hvnt or just haven't notice if I did.
I'm 35 weeks tomoz and I've been loosing mine for a couple of weeks now but no other signs ? I'm on baby number 4 and never lost it with any of my other baby's, I was checked 2 weeks ago as I was having pains and I'm 2-3 cm but I've had nothing else to say baby will come soon. I'm quite nervous as my last baby was born at 36 weeks so I keep thinking this one will be early aswel. I hate the unknown, I'd love to be able to know what my body is doing.
