Sudden weight gain
So I'm not one to worry about my weight, I'm not insecure and I know I love to work out and will work it off. But I was 149 at 28 weeks, 148 at 29 weeks and then all of a sudden at 30 weeks I was weighing 151 one day, 152 the next and 153 this morning. Has anyone experienced sudden weight gain in less than one week? I don't care about the numbers so much, just don't know if I should be worried about it happening so fast. I should probably clean up my diet more to be honest though :/
I swear my boobs doubled in size this week haha I've been all over the place with my weight and I'm super careful about sodium. You could ask your doctor about it but if everything is okay with baby they shouldn't be concerned. I had undiagnosed extra amniotic fluid with my last but I gained like 15 pounds really quick and they told me I was eating too much. They only picked up on it when my cervix was measuring like 10 weeks ahead and then via ultrasound. But like I said if they aren't concerned I wouldn't worry from your pics you look amazing ??
And I know weight gain increases, I just didn't expect to see a pound every day. I probably shouldn't weigh daily though.
My visit pattern for 3rd trimester is 28, 32, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40. I told them about my family history of preeclampsia and they don't seem too concerned. Oh well.
Rule of thumb for third tri is biweekly visits to monitor any development of Pre-E. I'd check with your midwife to make sure your visits increase appropriately. And then of course it goes to weekly in the last month. I think that's all pretty standard. ...that being said, Most gals will increase weight gain in the last trimester. I think APA estimates .5 lb per week and most of that is baby. BB is typically 2-3 lbs by 30 weeks and then 7-8 by 40. If all your vitals are good, don't sweat it too much!
I weight myself every week instead of every day to avoid fluctuations caused by water retention or frequency of bowel movements. Even then I have weeks where I gain a lot and weeks that I don't gain much. I think the baby goes through peaks and valleys of growth and that correlates with my weight. Keep track of your weight gain, the journal section of this app can help with it, but don't worry if it is not linear. It has been like that for me my entire pregnancy.
Meli, you're probably right. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say. I probably should be more careful since my mom, aunts and cousin all had preeclampsia. I feel like it will probably be nothing though. I don't notice any swelling, dizziness or other symptoms.
I'm at 21lbs at 31 weeks. Probably a few more lbs now. I had slow gain in the beginning. Then I had my 6 week gap in appointments and I was up 8lbs in 6 weeks at my 29 week appointment. My dr wasn't worried because I was at a healthy BMI before she said in doing good so far. She said 1-1.5 a week until I'm due would be normal now
Aprilblues, I won't see a midwife again for two more weeks. My appointments are still every 4 weeks. I'm not going to call unless I start experiencing other symptoms. She was fine with 16 lbs at 28 weeks though.
You can't possibly gain pound a day. That's 3500 excess calories. It's most likely water retention to some degree. Unless you live on ice cream and butter ;)
Also the body will start fat storage mobilization in spurts - maybe that's how your body works and it's happening. Weekly weight sessions are more accurate.
Nelly, I don't eat terrible MOST of the time. But lately I have kind of been on a roll with the crappy food. So that could be it. But I wouldn't think it would make me gain a pound a day and I don't eat a lot. My goal is not to exceed 30 lbs but if I stay within the 25-35 suggested range I'll be okay with that too. If I keep up this pound a day gain then I'm in trouble though lol
I've already gained around 32lbs at 32.5 weeks and my doctor isn't the slightest bit concerned. She says every woman is different and the guidelines are just that - guidelines. I'm more upset than she is! But I also know that, at this point, we should be seeing about 1lb in gain a week - half of that is baby, half is us. I wouldn't stress unless you start gaining a lot more! I'm also just hoping to lose the weight quickly afterwards.
From someone whos always weight was 122lbs my doctor told me for my 30 week check up that i was 142lbs i always thought okay maybe its all my belly which she did comfirm but then said i should just take it easy on eating and goes i know its hard but just because toward the end of pregnancy thats when i guess we gain all the weight idek but ever since then im like always concern of my weight and what is eat but i also havent really eaten so bad this pregnancy its always been fruits and veggies obviously some of my cravings but idk i understand youuuu for sure ?
This puts me at 20 lb gain at 30 weeks if I stay at 153. Don't know if it's just a fluctuation in water weight. But I know it's in normal range of weight gain for me.
My husband takes his cousin girlfriend to work. Should I be worried about the FEMALE coming on to my husband?
Ok so not using actual numbers.. But everyone knows I'm over weight since having my girls. It's no secret. BUT i was talking with my hubby last night and idk how we got to this but he said something like (not using actual numbers) no one should weigh 800lbs, they should take care of themselves. And i said so what if someone weighs 800lbs? He said no one should weigh that, they should be healthier. I said well i almost weigh 800! I'm in the 790s. And I'm healthy. I may be overweight but i don't h...
Has anyone else not gained much weight and they are 16 weeks? just nervous and worried this is my first baby..
scared about not gaining weight... I only gained 3 lbs in 17 weeks... im so scared..... I juat want to cry
Sprinkles, I will bring it up just to be on the safe side. And thank you! I actually feel like I look pretty good, I don't look bigger anywhere but boobs and belly. I don't have any swelling of the ankles or anything like that. My boobs feel like they've gained some pounds as well though lol. I am SUPER uncomfortable if I don't have my bra on at all times.
