Newborn clothes
So I'm pretty sure I have enough newborn clothes. I have a decent amount of onesies, pants and outfits and I have 5-6 zip up sleepers. The rest of his clothes are 0-3 months or more. For the experienced moms, how long did your babies wear newborn?
My daughter was 5lbs 14oz (39w4d) and wore newborn for about 4 weeks, depending on the brand of clothes. She was really petite too (only 17.5 inches long). For this baby boy I have 5 sleepers, 4 long sleeve onesies, 6 short sleeve onesies and 3 pair of pants. Then on to size 0-3 months and 3 months from there. I didn't want to overstock on stuff so if I need to buy more, that's an option.
All kids are different. My daughter was 6 pounds 11 ounces and pretty skinny. She was in newborn clothes for almost 3 months. Some pants even longer. I was so unprepared and had no newborn clothes for her. Licking she was born right before Christmas so she got a new wardrobe for Christmas that year haha
Thanks! I probably should have waited to wash his newborn clothes, but I guess it's part of the nesting. I had a wild hair up my butt and felt like I needed to get everything washed, cleaned and his nursery better organized. I feel like I didn't spend a ton of money on newborn clothes though, and I have at least one friend who is having a baby boy after me that I can donate to.
I think that's the same with diapers! Buy one pack and see. The doctors can predict a round about weight but can't know for sure till the baby gets here. My first daughter wore newborn in the hospital I think. She was 8 pounds 3 oz and 22 inches long. She was in newborn diapers long enough to squeeze through the small pack I bought. It's hard to estimate. And with baby clothes being so expensive I'd rather buy a few and not have enough then go crazy and buy a ton and never use them. Baby clothes are hard to resell. If you have taken tags off and what not.
Not long at all! 4 weeks tops. Some pieces my son only wore once or twice. He was born 20 inches long, and was 24 inches by his 4 week appointment. I couldn't keep up with his growth, i felt like he was constantly outgrowing his clothes. I would start getting 0-3 months and larger clothes now, just keep the seasons in mind.
It all depends on your babies size. I was recommended to NOT buy a ton of newborn, then my son born at 7.5lbs 20.5 inches wore newborn size for like 2 months! I had to actually go out and buy NB sizes and he needed a nb size outfit for coming home. We couldn't get away with the 0-3 it was way too big I'm anticipating a bigger baby this time, but still I stocked up just in case.
Newborn sizes
I only have 9 newborn onesies and 4 newborn zipper pjs. I know babies don't stay in newborn sizes very long, but I'm wondering if I should invest in a few more nb clothes? Or will I be okay with the amount of clothes I have in that size?
Hey moms. I have a question. I'm I wrong because I don't want used clothes for my newborn. He is my first child. I Already don't like using people clothes for myself but my husband family got a little offended by it.
Should I pack newborn and 0-3 clothes for the hospital bag? Or just newborns?
Probably a cray question to ask, but when did y’all start to wash your newborns clothes and putting them away? Like I’ve been getting clothes since I found out what I was having but I haven’t taken off tags yet or washed anything. I’m 30 weeks. It’s crazy because with my other 3 kids I didn’t really wash a lot of their stuff at first (got lazy) ALSO what laundry detergent did you use if you didn’t use Dreft? Because i saw Pyrex for Baby an didn’t know if anyone tried it??
how long do newborns stay in newborn clothes normally? I have ALOT of bigger sizes! but not to many newborn!
It also depends on the brand, carters and target tend to run small
