First L&D visit
So I was noticing fluid and it appeared to be clear and not smell so I called my ob and they told me to go to Labor & Delivery. Well everything was fine with baby once they put him on the monitor but they did an exam on me and it was so painful. They used a speculum without any lube so they could get samples. The inside of my cervix is closed and the outside is slightly open, but they're not concerned. They said it's not amniotic fluid but I do have a yeast infection & bacterial vaginosis ?. Now I'm sitting at the pharmacy waiting for my meds and starving lol.

Ouch! That sounds awful and not very considerate of them. :(

I agree with pp, ouch!! I'm glad everything seems fine with baby and that you should be better in a few short days.

I just had the same thing. It's how it's supposed to be done. It's not like they are trying to hurt you lol. Something about the lube messing with the results maybe?

Yeah I know they had to do it. Didn't make it any less uncomfortable haha.

The week before i delivered my son I ended up in L&D with what I thought was leakage. They did the same thing speculum exam and then an ultrasound. I was like next time maybe the ultrasound before the exam ?? it really hurt since everything is so swollen.

Ouch! Darn yeast infections! I got a bad one at the beginning of this pregnancy. Glad all is well and you weren't leaking any fluid though.

Oh hi hoo-hah problem twin haha. I'm on treatment for both the above too and it's gross is all I'm gonna say. Thankfully I'm not sore or anything but the cream that goes IN is the worst.
Don't cough or sneeze after you've put it in haha x
NewMommy·
Bekki, luck would have it that we get both at the same time lol.

Oh no! Glad little one is okay and that you will be okay.

Wow I'm so glad i came across your post just yesterday i was diagnosed with the legit same thing. Bv and yeast :/ nvr had bv and only had 1 yeast infection 7 months ago :( im however on a pill you take one day and 72 hrs after if symptoms are still there then i take 2 pills for 7 days for the other ... Ughhh
Good luck mama

Trisha, I don't feel so bad knowing I'm definitely not the only one it's happening to! They gave me some cream for the yeast to use for 7 days and then pills for the BV. And also probiotics. I don't even know what I did to upset the balance so much.

I'm glad all is ok (apart from the discomfort) ?

I had that done during my one trip to L&D for mild contractions. Omg that was so painful. I'm glad the midwife lied and told me it wouldn't hurt cuz if she would've I'm sure it would have psyched me out. I felt so uncomfortable afterwards...
