Stretch marks!
I'm 24 weeks and haven't gotten any (yet) so I'm wondering when you moms got them in past pregnancy or if you already have in this one? I feel like my belly is still pretty small so one day I'm going to wake up with a huge belly and stretch marks lol.
I'm 23 weeks and up until two weeks ago I didn't gain any weight at all. However, at about 16 weeks I woke up just covered in them. Unfortunately the stretch mark cream didn't seem to help prevent them. I still use the cream but they're just getting worse now that I'm gaining weight. :(
I think I see the tiniest start of a few on my sides. This is my first baby as well. 24weeks yesterday. I've been oiling and lotioning like twice a day. I don't mind if they're on my sides, under my ribs, but I don't want them in the front. Everything is just so tight that I don't think I'm going to be able to avoid it.
Mine happened about 4-5 days after bubs was born, i started feeling soreness on my upper thighs like i'd donena million squats and saw a few stretchmarks there and on my lower belly. They disappeared about 4 months pp apart from maybe 2 stretchmarksnon thighs and my breast stretchmarks havenremained although they did fade quite a bit.
With my 1st pregnancy i vomited nearly everyday so i tried to massage evco every few days on those stretchmark prone areas.
This pregancy i have been everyday rubbing oils on my stretchmark prone areas and so far nothing has popped up
I used to be extremely obese and I lost almost 200lbs (from 350 to 160...) and I have stretch marks from losing the weight although there not super deep stretch marks and not super noticeable. But I do have excess skin on my stomach thighs and arms . I haven't gotten any new stretch marks in either one of my pregnancies thus far. I only gained 8lbs with my first set of twins but only made it to 27wks with them so I didn't show with them. I then got back down to 160 after having them and gained up to 185lbs over the time after I had them before getting pregnant again. And now I'm up to 192lbs. Which is depressing and I'm 26wks. I hope I don't gain much more weight and can get back down to 160lbs at least (I was in a size 6 before having them... and would love to get back in that size 6!!) As of right now if I put on normal clothes im in a size 12/14 but I feel suffocated. And I can still put on some of my large clothes but it's definitely not how they fit before.... guess we will see what happens. I have heard that if you scratch your stomach that's what causes the stretch marks so it's a good idea to keep yourself nice and lotioned up and not to scratch your stomach as it stretches that can help decrease any stretch marks you could get...
Do you guys find that they fade a lot afterwards? Or do you think they're still really noticeable?
I use Bella B Tummy Honey or Palmer's cocoa butter but I forget all the time. I need to try the bio oil though, I know it can't hurt!
But either way, I've strangely always been a huge fan of fit moms who show off their "tiger stripes". There's something really beautiful about it to me. And I'd take some stretch marks if it means I get a precious baby boy in the bargain anyway.
I didn't get any with my first. I was very surprised as I'm 5"3 so my belly stuck out pretty far. It's genetic but using the lotions does help I used bio oil with my first. I've been terrible with using it with this pregnancy. We've had such a dry winter in Vancouver I really need to be more diligent with cream/oil.
I have aunts and cousins that didn't get any and some that had a few. My dad's mom had 13 kids and only had a few. I guess we will see! I do have some light ones on my inner thighs from puberty so I'm kind of counting on it.
My mom did get some, but she also went from 105 lbs to 165. I was her only full term pregnancy. I'm hoping slow, steady weight gain will help me out.
It's a good rule of thumb that if your mom got them you will. It's genetic. I only ever got small ones on my boobs and under my butt cheeks. No idea when they appeared. But I'm on baby #3 and still have never got them on my belly. My friend got hers randomly at 32 weeks. It's another one of those, everyone is different things.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
