Kristin, have you checked out the exchange at all? I don't know why I never thought to go there for baby stuff. They had some cute things at Oceana and someone told me the Norfolk one has a much larger selection.
Boosmommy, I got it at the Navy Exchange. I'm in the Navy and I was in there buying my maternity uniforms when I saw it. I had been eyeing it online and it was about 20 dollars cheaper than any other store and tax free.
Brestivo, I got this seat at the NEX on Oceana. It was cheaper and tax free and the exact style I wanted. They were actually sold out of this particular style (the stripes) online at Target and more expensive anyway. So when I saw it I just scooped it up. I am so funny about things, I'll see something I have to have and it's like nothing else will do lol.
Oh Yeah! We ended up just buying a second base for the infant one for the Hubs truck. Worked out well. He works so much that it was rare he ever had to take her any where but that was just our situation. I need to start looking for a second convertible one for after this baby comes and is ready to move up. Been on the look out for good sales! Where did you get yours from?
I'll see how I feel once he gets here! I also would like to keep the second infant seat handy if we ever have to ride in a different car. Like his grandparents or any other family.
That's what's nice about the infant car seat. You don't have to take the baby out. That comes in handy when baby falls asleep during the car ride. Just unhook it and go! Then you can attach it to a stroller, set in grocery cart, etc. And just set it back into the base when you are done with your trip. I would recommend doing that for the first 6 months over using the convertible car seat and tranferring baby to a different carseat. Once he's to an age he can sit up by himself take the infant out and put the forever one in. I didn't pull mine out of the box until she could sit on her own. Trust me its so much easier on you and baby those first few months
Chrisla I probably would have waited if I wouldn't have seen a good opportunity. Plus I wanted to purchase most big items myself because I feel bad about anyone spending that much money on me. I think the only "big" things left are my Bob (but I'll buy that one probably), some kind of swing and a pack n play.
Jigarcia, I had already wanted to get a baby sling so definitely one of those. And also I'm going to find a cheaper infant seat just that I can use with my Bob.
Ohh, I love it! Unfortunately, I bought a new X3 right before I found out I was pregnant (so, totally upside down) and have a 4 yr old and 2 yr old, three regular size seats like that won't fit across the back ? There's like only two combos of seats that will fit 3-across, so stuck lol
Heather, makes sense! Convenient for me is having something in one place and never moving it though so that's why I'm buying a cheapie infant car seat to just leave in the back of my CR-V to use with his stroller until he's big enough to sit in it lol.
Brestivo, I'm going to end up purchasing another cheap infant car seat but mainly just to use with my Bob stroller and to carry the baby into restaurants and stuff. I'm going to leave this one in the car and not move it lol.
Steiblove, this one is pretty much meant to stay in the car and not move lol. It doesn't have a matching stroller.
Ashly, I saw that and almost bought it but they didn't have this style. It was sold out and I refused to get anything other than the stripes. But I'm lucky, because even with that discount Target offered I still paid less at the NEX.
