Weight gain
I'm 15w4d and I've gained about 6 lbs since the beginning of pregnancy. As long as the scale I just used is correct, I'm creeping up on 140. I had a mini freak out but I calmed myself down by telling myself it's normal. What has everyone else gained?

16 weeks and I've gained one pound. I actually just weighed myself yesterday. I only gained 25 pounds my lazy pregnant and all towards the end
NewMommy·
Mamalitvak, I would think more than 20-25 would be healthier for you anyway! But I'm not a doctor lol

Gained about 11 pounds. 17 weeks 4 days

I'm 18 weeks and have already gained 11 lbs. I began very fit at 5'2 115lbs. I set a goal of 20-25 lb gain total but that's obviously out the window. I eat healthy and barely give into cravings but I guess everyone is different. My husband is very supportive and keeps reminding me its all in my belly so I guess I'll deal with it and go HAM to loose it once our baby makes his debut lol

MadRun, that sounds about right. Don't know what my BMI was but I was very in shape and not underweight. So average range. My doctor recommended around 30 but 25-35 is okay.

I've read that the normal pregnancy weight gain depends on your BMI before pregnancy. Like, if it was 18,5 -24,9, normal gain is 12–15 kg (26-33lbs). If it was below 18,5 then 16–18 kg (35-39lbs). If BMI was more than 25, then less than 8kg (17lbs)..
As for me, my BMI before pregnancy was 18.9 so I should gain up to 33lbs. Right now I am 15w4d and gained ~11lbs. With my other 2 kids I gained totally 35lbs (BMI 18) and lost them very quckly after giving birth. I guess normally the less you weight the more you'll gain... I think as long as you eat health, exercise moderately and baby is growing fine, then no need to worry about weight now! :)

I'm 18 weeks and I lost 7 pounds and haven't gained any back. Makes me worried
deleted-user·
I haven't gain any weight ?and I'm 16 weeks
deleted-user·
I had gained about 5lb by 20 weeks with my son. And 70 lb by 41 weeks....
NewMommy·
I'm not too worried about gaining too much but I do know I need to eat a lot healthier.

I gain weight early on with all my pregnancies (on baby #3). I'm 17w3d and already up 16 lbs lol But, I was right about here with my last two and ended up gaining a total of 40 (all of which I had gained by week 34/35 and nothing from that point until birth). Not worried about it as I've been lucky in that it (so far, knock on wood) comes off super fast and my body/skin go back to pre-preg. I started at 5'7", 122lbs and I was 138 this morning ?? lol

Ugh! I'm only 15 weeks and have gained 10lbs on top of gaining back what I lost from morning sickness... I'm a little nervous. My last pregnancy was so easy, gained exactly 25lbs by the very end. I'm eating more but quite healthy... Sheesh, I hope it levels out!
deleted-user·
Bahaha! Yea... weighing in the morning is best, and usually the nicest. lol
NewMommy·
Well nvm the scale said 137.4 this morning. So I've only gained 4. Guess I shouldn't weigh myself at night after a day of fried pickles, shrimp and grits, burger, fries and brownies lol.

I started at 129 and am now 141. I gained 11 pounds in the first trimester and this past month only gained a pound. My doctor wasn't concerned but kept asking if I was eating correctly and often etc. which I am and have been but I'm trying to shoot to gain no more than 25-30 at the most. I'm 16 weeks now so if I'll be ok with 10-15 more pounds lol

Last time I got weighed at the doctor was last week and I was 140. Started at 132. I'm 5'9" and currently 15 weeks 5 days.

I'm a weight gainer, I do it so effortlessly lol My last few pregnancies I have went from 135-140ish to 211 lol my doctor is never concerned as everything else is great but I just gain weight very easy. I am 17 weeks pregnant now and have gained about 8-10 lbs. I look and feel like I've gained 30 lbs.. Yikes it is what it is, I'm going to embrace it and work it off after the baby.

I only gained 18lbs with my first! I went right back down after he was born... but then I slowly gained weight because of hormones, my GD kind of still hanging around.
I had recently lost almost 20 pounds and was at my pre-marriage (lol) weight. I felt so amazing.... I have gained about 5 pounds at this point, and am dreading the post prego body..
I have had major body issues in the past so it's always hard for me to watch the scale go up... even if I'm pregnant.

18w up 8lbs ?gained 60 with my first lost it all then got pregnant again lol?. 25-30 range is normal and that's where I hope to be. Mid 2nd-3rd trimester are the ones to fear...

18 weeks today and still below my pre-prwgnancy weight by 6lbs. I'm not worried and neither is my OB because of being very overweight to begin with. I can really only afford to gain 10lbs total so I've been watching how much I eat to try and control that. I gained 26lbs with my daughter and because of breastfeeding, I had lost it all after 2 weeks. Hoping the same thing will happen this time.
deleted-user·
I've almost gained like 20 pounds lol. I'm 16 weeks. But I was super underweight at beg of pregnancy. I'm 5'6 and was only 100 pounds. Last appt I was 117! Dr said its good tho so I'm fine with it lol. I go again this Friday so I'm sure I'll be even more than that now.

14.6 still in the negatives , gaining what I lost but still not pre pregnancy weight
NewMommy·
Cin.perez, I doubt there's any reason to be concerned. Just make sure you are getting an adequate number of calories a day. I'm sure you'll catch up.

I lost 19lbs at the beginning and I've gained 6 of it back so far

I started out at 150, 5'5...Im 16 weeks and haven't gained anything. Dont know what the deal is, Im concerned though.
NewMommy·
Shystarr, most of mine came from 2nd tri. I think it's mainly eating like s*** on the road and then the holidays.

Im 16 weeks day 2nd and I went from 129 to 135 so I have a 6th pound weight gain too. The first trimester I always eat nonstop cause it helps ease the nausea.
NewMommy·
My doctor said my ideal weight gain overall is about 30 lbs. I just need to be good the rest of the time.

With my daughter I lost almost 20lbs in the first trimester. Then gained it all back plus 10lbs by the time she was born. But breastfeeding does wonders! Baby is sucking the fat out of you ;) lol. So far with this baby I've gained 2-3lbs. But I'm not nearly as active or eating as healthy as I was with my daughter. I feel guilty for that, but ehhh....this time around I'm not just a housewife. I'm busy with work and a toddler, so no time for the gym, and easy meals on the go or easy not so great health wise meals cooked at home.
NewMommy·
Runsyellowlites, good for you! I started out at an average weight. 5'5 and 133. I'd like to think it was mostly muscle lol. I've been really eating like a pig and lazy over the holidays and with traveling. I need to change up my diet (not eat less, just healthier) and make sure I exercise consistently.

15.3, I've gained 1lb and that makes me super happy!
I usually start gaining the second I get a positive test. Lol
I'll be back at piyo soon so I'm hoping to maintain my current weight this pregnancy, which my MW said would be fine since I'm considered overweight (5'5 started at 181 this pregnancy).
