Oh, at first I thought the jacket was on over the straps, but the I saw they are pulled down and the kid's arms are not in them. ?

My 5 year old sd has been in just a booster with a seatbelt since she was 3. I told my husband she should still be in a high back but him and his ex think she's fine. My niece is 7 and is just now in a backless booster and my husband thinks that's overboard.

Sd also moves the strap under her arm, but I make her wear it the right way and lean back. My LO will be rear facing until 4 if possible.

Yikes. I saw a post the other day on fb with a girl about 2 years old in the car with only a seatbelt, no carseat whatsoever. I see so many unsafe things regarding car seats, it's horrible!

My 4 yr old nephew is already in a booster using an adult seatbelt (which BTW he has been that way since 3). He also doesn't like the shoulder belt so he tucks that under his arm too. Yes, I've mentioned it to my sil but her excuse is that he's too husky n doesn't fit.

I know so many people who think having their kids buckled like this is right..

Whether he unbuckled the straps before the photo or not, being buckled in with a jacket like that is not safe.

It is possible to do that though....lol. Dh and I do it all the time with both girls. They sleep the whole time even while getting them out of the carseat. He may or maybe not have fully buckled him in. Only real issue is I don't see the straps fitting over that jacket. That jacket is way to puffy.

Also they were stopped and the kid is asleep but he said that they had just gotten to their destination. No way that he managed to remove the shoulder straps after stopping without waking the kid.
