Dessert ideas
My friends and I have a Cake Club. Once a month, one of us receives the others in her house and bakes dessert, usually a cake. It makes an occasion to see each other and talk about our lives. Anyway, we've been doing that since 2008 so you can imagine that we have had a wide variety of cake, pie and other desserts.
I make dirt cake for all our family gatherings and it is always a hit!
You soften a stick of butter and a pack of cream cheese and mix it together.
Then add a whole bunch of powdered sugar. I don't even know how much, just A LOT!
Mix it.
In another bowl put two packs of instant vanilla pudding and 3.5 cups of milk. Mix it together.
Then put both mixtures together and add a pack of cool whip. Mix is all together.
Then layer it with crushed Oreos.
It is super good!

Bake a yellow cake and poke holes in it. Let cool. Take thawed frozen strawberries and puree then in the blender then pour over the cake. Take a big box of instant vanilla pudding and mix with 1/2 the milk it calls for. Then mix with a small thawed container of cool whip. Top the cake. Let sit in the fridge until ready to serve. This is my favorite cake.
Bake a devil's food cake and poke holes in it. Let it cool. Pour a small can of sweet condensed milk in the holes. Pour half a bottle of carmel in the holes. Top with cool whip. Smash up heath bars and put on top. (You can change the candy bar. I have used Reese peanut butter cups, shaved a Hershey bar over it, I don't recommend kit kat though because it got soggy quick. Refrigerate the cake.
