Tips for potty training

We started potty training DD and it's going semi-well. Yesterday she didn't have any accident so that's good! But she didn't go pee on the toilet at daycare even if the caregiver sent her regularly. She peed when they put her in a pull-up for naptime and after that she waited until she was home.

Dry erase markers. Put her backward on the potty and give her a dry erase marker to color on the back of the lid. Once she sees how fun it is, limit it to only when she has to use the potty. After a year of struggling with my son peeing in front of the toilet on the floor I tried this. It solved almost all of our issues. It's fun and it cleans right up. ;)

Thanks for your answer pp. I keep her in dresses so it's easier for her but of course she needs panties at daycare. She actually went to pee in the toilet at daycare so I'm very proud of her! No accidents today, it's going well :)

I didn't think she was able to hold for that long! I hope she understands to go before it's too late soon. She's almost 3 yo and it's the first time we've had any kind of success with potty training.

My daughter was terrible for holding her pee. Up to 6 hours at a time!! I just kept encouraging her, didn't make any big deal when she had an accident and smarties worked to get her to pee! She got the hang of it and has been potty trained since about 26 months.

My baby boy was showing interest in potty training, I decided to buy him a potty chair. Potty training tips 1.) Don't rush your child 2.)Don't yell at your child 3.) Don't punish your child for having accidents 4.) Don't give you child candy 5.) Don't compare other children to your child 6.) Do praise your child 7.) Clap your hands when your child goes to the potty. 8.)Take your child every 15-30 minutes to the potty 9.)Don't criticize your child 10.) I don't recommend pull ups but I don't bash mothers who decided to use them. 11.) Remember potty training is not taught in one day you have to be determined to potty train your child.
