Reading another post about money, it got me thinking about this situation between 2 friends couples.

@Socialbutterfly, even with their money problems, their kid has always what she needs and more (also very spoiled by the grandparents) and they are very good and loving parents. We wouldn't stay friends with them of they neglected their child.
That couple sound away more than "bad with money".
That's careless and very irresponsible not just bad with money.
If be ticked as well. I too would have went and purchased so the child doesn't suffer due to parents negligence.
If I see a child suffering because of neglectful parents, I go buy a few things.
It is neglect if you deliberately put yourself into a position of not having necessities for the child yet can get all those other things that are not.
I don't care if that trip is a good deal. That child needs to come first ... Always!
My mother alway said give money as a gift, not a loan. That way you gave it with a good heart and won't change a relationship if your mad wanting your money back.
My BIL is bad with money. We've given them money a few times when they came up short.
One year shortly after Xmas they bought a large flat screen TV after we had given them money. While the money was a gift, it was more than we would have given if they weren't struggling. It pissed me off and since then we haven't given them a dime.
It'd be different if jack asked specifically for their help. He didn't and offered to pay them back. Bonnie and Clyde can feel upset but have no quarter to say anything. Yes jack and Jill are poor money managers, but that's not Bonnie and Clyde's business. (Lol that almost autocorrected to Clydesdale)
When you help someone, you do so with no strings attached. With that being said, I don't think the other couple has a reason to be upset that they are going on vacation.
I'd be upset, not that they didn't pay me back, but that they were that irresponsible. Honestly it might be friendship ruining, especially if it was a common occurrence.
I cut out friends from my life who are bad with money like this. It makes me mad, especially when there are tools to help them budget. My friends aren't perfect but they all work to make their lives better, not indulge in unnecessary crap.
I agree with you. They told him not to worry about paying them back for the stuff. That's their own problem.

That's what I think too. I also think they maybe just regret helping out in this situation but it's too late to ask for money back, of course.
I think they have no right to be pissed based on them helping out. Jack offered to repay and they declined.
Sounds like they just wanted to be held in a saint like light and now they are being pricks.
I dont think they have a right to be mad... for the reasons you stated and because he did offer to pay thrm back for the items
Yes they may suck at money management but it's nobody's business but theirs.
this was way creepy and weird!? I opened the link and it was about winning money?
This app is about MOTHERHOOD not MONEY! Give it a rest damn
It’s no problem when my money is covering my husbands part of the bills but god forbid when it’s time for him to pay me back no only does he give me a little at a time when I wasn’t paying bills little at a time but he always try to play this guilt card talking about I got no money well I don’t got money either when I have to pay ur portion I don’t feel bad
Are any of you... The " b**** y ex"? I see so many posts about SO's ex's being mean when it comes to the kids they have together, not letting them see eachother, fighting about money, support, etc. and I was wondering if any existed on this app and what your reason was for acting that way.

@sillysilly, you're right! They are open about their finances. Most of our other friends and us are more discreet about it.
