?Mardi Gras?
Anyone else in this group frm New Orleans out at tha parades tonite celebrating an having fun? Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday an it is lit. My 2 oldest are marching in the parade tonite. It cold but it won't stop the people of New Orleans or tha tourists that come here to celebrate Fat Tuesday.
Where r u ladies born an raised? Im a deep southern girl all tha way frm tha bottom of tha boot. Born an raised in tha big city New Orleans, where we get snow about every 20 yrs, which melts within a few hrs?. Its always hot an humid here. We dont have real winters like up north. My husband is frm tha country so i tend to tell our kids that they have a lil city an a lil country in em. Growing up in New Orleans u learn 2 things for sure an thats how to party an cook. That explains y i chose tha career path i took as a chef. People luv to come here for our food an our parties. This city knows how to have a good time.
New Orleans What are some must see / must do things while there? DH and I leave in a week for a 4 day trip with no babies!!! :-)

My sister lives there. They are in a parade today. We are wearing our Mardi Gras fear in Chicago though.

@ kings i have been eating boiled crawfish an boiled pig feet almost everyday for bout a week now. Lol. Just trying to get it now cause once Jurnee comes, I won't be able to eat it cause of all tha spices.

Girl if I had a kiddo in the parade Id be going too! I've been in labor for two days and that's the only thing that would make me risk it. I lived in New Orleans for a while! (And in Morgan city as a kid) miss it a lot some times. Craved some broiled oysters from Boudreaux's FOREVER. ?

@ keykey yesss. Omg. Me An tha kids luv king cake. The hubbi isn't a big fan but we luv em. We have had quite a few since the season started??. I only eat tha traditional non filled ones, but my kids luv em either way, filled or traditional. It's an amazing place to live, or visit. I was born an raised here.

I love the king cake. Been to NO a few times. It’s amazing. I have a friend who’s from there and makes king cakes. ??? Sooooo good.

@ kings i hear ya girl. I'm not doin it today. I'm unable. Had contractions lastnite. Due in 4 more days. But i was born in raised in New Orleans, kinda hard for me to refuse? and my daughter's march in tha parade with their school band so I gotta support them. But they don't march today so I'm at home in bed watching Carnival on tv. I grew up parading.
@ Harrison OMG I promise u would luv it here. Tha festivities dont stop. We actually shut tha city down for 2 days to celebrate Mardi Gras. We take it serious here. Other states have parades, but they dont party for Mardi Gras like New Orleans. We luv to party. When u do come please go to Bourbon Street. An make sure u grab a hand grenade?and a slice of our delicious king cake. Heck just make sure u eat period. Lol?. Boiled seafood, gumbo, red beans, etouffe, an pecan pralines.
