Help!
Ok you mom's with twins and younger children, like 2.5, how do you keep you child from messing with the babies and all their things like swings and bouncy chairs? On the weekend and week nights when my 2.5 year old son is here the babies have to live in the bedroom. On the weekdays I have them and all their stuff in the living room when it's just me with them here. Then when my son comes home after 5pm I have to move everything back to the bedroom. Does anyone else live this way or just me? I feel like it's just me. I can't take living like this anymore. I want to be able to hang out in the living room with the whole family everyday

My twins won't be here for another few months, but I can see my 2.5-year-old doing that for sure! I don't really have any suggestions exactly, but maybe if you just keep the swings and bouncy chairs in the living room permanently as fixtures, will he just get bored of them eventually? I know my little guy gets bored of his own toys quickly enough! That must be frustrating.

Yeah we could try that. We just had a bouncy chair out in the living room and he tried sitting in it multiple times. That's all I need is for it to break but I guess this is the only way to teach him. My husband's better at telling him not to do things lol. So I will do it when my husband is around. And yes my son gets bored with all his toys to. I swear he has every construction truck known to man lol. He only plays with some of them now, the bigger ones we had to put away because he uses them to stand on the reach stuff on counters

My 2.5 doesn’t really touch the baby stuff but I think it’s because we had them out in the open, months before the babies came so he just got used to them being there. But he was curious and wanted to touch and play with them in the beginning. So like PP said. Just leave them there maybe he’ll eventually just get bored of them.

My daughter is almost 4 and is always sitting in the swing, rock n plays, bumbos, bouncy chairs and everything else meant for the babies ? not really sure how to keep her out, she’s gotten pretty sensitive/jealous regarding the babies and goes as far as to tell me I don’t care about her when I ask her to not play in them

Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep my 10,15 and 11 year old dogs away from all the twins stuff? ????

I just tell my two year old no about 150 times and redirect her behavior and attention elsewhere, LoL
I leave all our baby stuff in the living room. I don’t care if she touches or climbs in the stuff she can’t break (our bouncers and exersaucer) but I make her stay off the swing, cuz that thing was expensive!
With a toddler all that really works is constant redirection, timeout, or a change of expectations. Whichever you’re willing to do and follow through with!

I guess I will take a lesson here form you and just put the swings and other stuff out about a month before the babies are born, so my son gets used to them. Better to have him messing with them while they are empty than when there are babies in them!
