I know you guys love spider pictures lol, so I had to post this bad boy that I found today on my neighbors garage door. It was one of the biggest spiders I have seen in my state of NJ. But it's beautiful. It's a Black and Yellow Argiope or also known as a yellow garden spider

It only has 4 legs ??

My husband thought it only had 4 legs to but there are two together on each of those single legs u see

Oh , a garden spider.

We call those "writing spiders" here in the south (in my part anyway) because of the old wives tale about them writing your name (they don't lol) meaning something about luck. They're harmless but are big! They're also called yard spiders.

I have like 6 or 7 of these on my house. I let them stay because they kill all the other spiders and bugs. Lol. Definitely creepy. The one of my front porch, it's body is bigger than my palm so I stay away from him. Lol

Yeah it goes by a lot of names I just did not list them all. This is probably a male because as always the female is bigger and more vibrant in color

We have one living by our shed, and I've named her Charlotte. Their webs really do look like they have messages written in them! ?

We have some of those. We called them garden spiders, writing spiders, banana spiders... always thought they looked cool! I live in Alabama now, but was born in Texas and my grandparents used to always have those on the corners of their homes in the spring and summer! We used to love throwing grasshoppers in their web and watching them wrap them in the web!
