terrible 2's!?
For the past 2 weeks my 22 month old has totally done a 360 and become someone else. My husband and I are at our wits ends. He throws tantrums and screams at the top of his lungs about everything. We are so scared the police will show up. The screaming is so loud I swear my ears feel like they are bleeding. He will not get out of the tub anymore, let me undress him, change his diapers, put clothes on him, put a diaper on him, comb his hair, NOTHING! If he doesn't get his way it's a war. He is also bitting, slaping, kicking, stomping, and throwing things. He especially acts like this when I'm around. Sometimes with my husband. We are new at this and everything I'm reading is for older toddlers. It's saying talk to them calmly and or ignore till they stop. Yeah that does not work with someone his age. He just does not listen, he will scream over u. So we have to yell all the time. HELP!

We really need help. Like right now he is screaming bloody murder as we put him to bed. This is the first time ever. He has been a great sleeper since he was 7 months old, till tonight. He screams all throughout the day for no reason what so ever. Now at bed time in his crib. We don't know what's going on. Is it normal for a 22 month old toddler to just start screaming like he is being murdered? How do we peacefully stop him?

Hi I totally feel ur pain. My son will be 2 in June
Hes been like this for about a week now. But hes also been sick n just now getting better. I'm guessing it a phase. I new to it also n I'm a single mom so kinda tough all round. I try n find things to try to distract him n sometimes it works n others it doesn't. But just before bed like 10 min ago he too was screaming n crying. N I just said um done n walked away as I looked back he wanted me to hold him n started rocking him. N thank God I worked lol
try cuddling. Don't fall into his frustration they we all get stressed sp it is good to stay calm. Good luck hope This helps.

Well because of the screaming today our evil upstairs neighbor called the cops on our son like she does every weekend. We are so lost. It needs to stop. Should I take him to doctors and see what they say?

I would it doesn't hurt. Better be safe than sorry. At thisxage we just never know. Have you tried Like to take a walk or outside to change his activity? Good luck momma. Was a rough night for me too last night. Try maybe some orajel, half dose of Tylenol or motrin just to see if u can get him to calm down ir rest. Something might be hurt him. Has he been pulling on his ears???

No. I don't think it's teething. But we did give him Tylenol. He had a good time yesterday. He spent time with daddy and me, then grandma came over and watched him for a little bit and took him to the park. Only thing that was different was he had a 2 hour nap instead of the usual half hour or hour nap. Could have been what messed him up

Its possible. Just try entertaining him to tire him out. maybe He's bored. If my son doesn't nap well hes super fussy. Anything will trigger him n more at this age. You have to be creative to get his mind off being upset. Bring out toys. A movie. Cuddling. Music going out for a play/break or walk. Maybe a snack. I've even caught myself and all he wanted was water n then I'm like oh geez all that n I missed it. Kids know what they want but until they can't tell us it's pretty much trial n error n guessing games

I wonder if he napped longer because of being at the park??? Did he act up with grandma? If not then he may just need mommy n daddy's attention... But loving attention. We tend to fall in with their emotions n thats not good either.
