I can cut them once in a while if he is distracted. I cant do it when he sleeps because I have a bad back and can't lean over crib or play pen. I'm guessing this happened either because the toenail was long and it broke while he was wearing shoes or he dropped something on it? Anyone have this happen to their toddler? He also has very thin nails and they grow in really weird. But it's only his big toenails

My almost 3 year old has toenails like this. It happened after a bad case of hand foot and mouth disease. Very interesting.

It happened to both my older boys, but almost two years later my almost 5 year old's toenails are normal, and my almost 3 year old's toenails are still like this.

Ds big toe nails grow almost like this. They're shaped very funny looking.

My daughter's toe nails grow oddly. I asked the doctor about it when she was 9 months old and the doctor said it was normal!
