what to expect when u miscarry

I miscarried last Friday and baby was measuring 8+3 and I was supposed to be 12+2. Mine started as a period like pain from Sunday to Wednesday. It got a bit worse on Thursday but Friday I went into labor.. And it felt like a less intense and shorter labor. I then passed blood, clots and the sac, placenta and baby all at once. It took about 1.5 hours of contractions. It wasn't aweful and healing has been quick...physically... Even emotionally it's been ok. I think because I got to deliver her and bury her. I am already done bleeding and it hadnt even been a week. I am soo sorry. Its a hard thing to go through.

So will I pass a formed baby even tho I'm only between 5 and 6 weeks? I did not think it would even be a formed baby yet this early. Im having bleeding with small clots and egg yolk like stuff.

I don't really know what you will pass. I couldn't see my baby BC it was still in the sac and I didn't want to take everything apart. You might just pass clots and stuff since you weren't as far along but I honestly can't tell you for sure

I think everyone has a different experience. My doc and MIL told me to expect a lot of pain. After my us where they didn't find a heart beat, I bled for a week and a half. Then I had really bad cramping (nothing I couldn't handle) with worse bleeding. The next day I sat down to go to the bathroom and a large clot fell out. 3 days later, no more bleeding.

I've posted a similar question trying to figure out what to expect and got answers all over the board. Our bodies all react differently. Sorry you're going through this. :(

So sorry. Sounds like you are nervous about what to expect? I can share my most recent mc since it was natural and at about the same time frame as you are now. I had a natural miscarriage in August at 7 weeks, but ultrasound showed way less, although she did find the beginning of a sac, so maybe around 5 weeks. I spotted/light flow for 3 days then had kind of rhythmic cramping on day 4 and increased bleeding and passed a solid mass that was the size and shape of a marble attached by a cord to a palm size piece of tissue so I think the sac had filled with blood and clotted and it was still attached to the placenta. I was relieved since I knew that meant I wouldn't have anything retained and end up needing a DNC. My other one I was further and baby was 8w3d so was more obviously there.

Thank you all. My other question is how long does the bleeding last? I'm still bleeding pretty heavy and today is the 6th day. Also I see people say they miscarried on a certain day. How do u know this when I just keep bleeding and passing clots for days?

For me, I had massive bleeding on day 1 and really strong cramps. I passed a huge clot that 1st day and it was like a relief after that happened as the cramps subsided and I bled like a normal period for about a week after, passing some small clots here and there. An ultrasound the following week confirmed my uterus was completely cleared and empty. The following month I had my period as expected and my cycles resumed to what they were before. Did u also have to get ur blood drawn once a week to check that ur hormones are going down? I have been bleeding a bit heavy for about 6 days now. I would think by now it would be just about done since I was only about 6 or 7 weeks. I just don't want to have to get a D and C done.

I was wondering same thing I've been bleeding since Wednesday er told me hcg was 300 and there not sure if I miscarrying but I'm bleeding bad . What should I do

You should probably get an ultrasound. How far along are u? Some bleeding us nornal the first few weeks for some people. I have been bleeding since Wensday also. Tomorrow will be 6 days. The bleeding has been a heavy flow since Friday. Only had some mild cramping past couple days but no contractions. Past some clots and other small stuff. My doctors just want me to go once a week for blood work to see if hormone level goes down that's it.
