bleeding for almost a week?

So it started out pink spotting. I went and get checked couple days ago and said my cervix was still closed. I also had my first ultra sound almost 2 weeks ago and said I was only 5 weeks and a couple days when date of last period was August 3. So I should be almost 9 weeks or more by now. But they were going with 5. Which would make me about 7 now. So after I got checked 2 days ago I have been bleeding more and bright red like the beginning of my period. It's there when I wipe and in the toilet. Now I'm waiting to get another ultra sound right now. Anyone else going through this. I'm 38 and this will be my second child. So from spotting to today it's been about a week I've been bleeding. But no real sign of miscarriage like heavy bleeding and painful cramps
