Ewan the dream sheep question!

Ewan the dream sheep question!

So Bear is guna be 1 on the 27th of this month and he's terrible at going back to sleep when he wakes during the night! Recently it's taking me an hour and a half to 2 hours to get him back to sleep!?? At about 6ish this morning I was awake with Bear and I seen on facebook a women selling Ewan for a tenner so I messaged her straight away and I'm getting it tomorrow... my question is what's the chance of it working for Bear? He's never had one before and i didn't wana buy a new one if it wasn't guna work but if it does work then I'm guna buy one for his brother due in May aswell...

I didn't think to do that! Thanks for the tip!

So as far as working in the middle of the night..Bear wants his bottle before he'll fall asleep so as long as I give him one he falls asleep within half hour with Ewan on which is better than 2hours.. it's a start (: xx

Bear was waking up loads before our new health visitor have gave us some tips to get him to fall asleep in his cot.. I was constaly tired and it was doing my head in lol the longest Bear has ever slept was 6hours and that's only happened twice and he'll be 1 next Monday? I ended up crying to the health visitor when she asked how his sleeping was(probably hormones aswell lol) I feel better knowing we can get Bear to fall asleep in his cot now..just need to sort out the middle of the night issues which hopefully we can do before Kasen arrives(it would be nice to get a full night sleep cuz I havent had one since early pregnancy with Bear!xx

Awww really hope it works for you and bear! I know the feeling of being heavily pregnant and hardly no sleep my son just turned 1 on Tuesday and my god he can wake up anywhere between 3-4 times a night but luckily goes back off within 30 mins xx

So Ewan kind of worked! When he woke up I turned Ewan on and it took half hour but he fell asleep(I pressed Ewans leg before leaving Bears room and got into my bed and as soon as Ewan stopped Bear woke up so I changed his nappy and gave him a bottle and put him back in his cot and it took maybe half hour again for him to fall asleep so a massive improvement on 2hours lol... maybe he just needs to get used to him... so far so good tho!xx

Mini update: no judging me please I feel bad enough as it is but the last couple of weeks we've been doing gentle sleep training to try and get Bear to fall asleep in his cot cuz since newborn he's never fallen asleep in there from being awake, every night we've done it there's been tears from Bear and me, and tonight my oh led Bear in his cot after his bottle, turned Ewan on and not one single tear! My oh waiting in his room with him for a few minutes and said when he came out Bear was just staring at Ewan! The real test will be in the middle of the night where recently it's been taking me upto 2hours to get him back to sleep (last night it happened twice and the 2nd time I gave up and put him in our bed) I will update again tomorrow!xx

Must get the Duracell rechargeables! We bought the rechargeables from screwfix......do NOT bother with them ?

I second Chelsea's battery comment! When we were using regular cheap batteries we were getting through a set a week so ended up investing in Duracell rechargeable and charged (cheap on eBay) so when he runs out we just charge batteries through the day and he is good to go again at night!

Each of his legs have a button and each plays a sound..my lg likes the rain or heartbeat it lasts 20 minutes so press his paw leg every time you have to check on baby so it lasts longer lol it's tummy glows red so it's meant to be mimicking being in the womb it makes me sleepy ? it drains batteries so make sure you stock up!its a good buy!x

Joseph is 3 in May and he's on his 3rd ewan. They are great! The batteries ran out the other night and after 30 mins of him messing around in bed as soon as I changed the batteries and turned him on Joseph was asleep within 5 mins.

I would say it's definitely worth a shot! My lb is 7 months and we have just stayed using Ewan in the last few weeks with huge success. He usually feeds to sleep and I wanted to try and get him used to self settling so now we have Ewan I put him in his cot awake but sleepy and stick Ewan on and he's usually asleep within 5 minutes!

DD still uses hers at 15 months. You may find it works it may not but for £10 bargain and worth trying xx

Opinions on crying it out?

Opinions on crying it out? My baby is 8 1/2 months old. I've tried the no tears method and it worked a couple times but now it doesn't anymore. I do squats while holding her and rock her (21 lbs baby) for over an hour each nap all for nothing. My friend said she did cry it out and by the 3rd day her baby would only cry 5 minutes and now he's totally fine with sleeping in the crib. Opinions please? I am the only one who actually raises my kid. My fiancé does not help and I have no family that helps. So it is very hard on me. Thank you Edit: because clearly some of the women on here think I'm a monster. I am an EMT. When I go back to work, I will be gone 24 hours at a time. My daughter is almost 9 months old and cries every minute she is not in my arms. As much as I want to comfort her every second of the day, I can't. And it's better I get her used to sleeping on her own now, than not letting her cry and all of a sudden mommys gone for 24 hours at a time and she completely loses it and I can't just get off work to comfort her.
