4 year old got out of school alone ?
My husband went to pick our just turned 4 year old up from school and found him half way home I'm so upset and angry anything could of happened to him ? I will not be letting this drop I'm so disappointed in the school x

Thank you so much ladies I will take your advice and write to the governors, I can't get my head round how this has happened his teacher is extremely upset I know they adore my boy but this is completely unacceptable he's quite a young 4 too was a late talker etc he also has a bad heart so this has made him poorly tonight, he has no idea what he did was a bad thing he is only just asleep he was crying and so upset that he worried me, I'm so angry he's had to deal with this when it should never have happened in the first place the poor boy ? I can't stop thinking of what could have happened to him I know he's safe now that's the main thing but I'm not leaving that school until I know they will do everything to protect my boy xx
I'd be mortified and so angry at his teachers ! Your poor little boy must of been terrified on his own I know my 4 year old would be! My son has to line up in the class room with one teacher and another at the door and they don't let the kids out untill the teacher has seen their mum/dad's, and they only let them out one at a time! how have they possibly let him "slip out" they obviously wasn't watching properly and I'd be terrified they would do it again!xx
They did this with my DS and he was year 5 & 6 needless to say I lost the plot, especially as they are quick enough to refer me and other parents for silly issues.
Having raised it with MASH and OFSTED when it happened the second time both said it was unacceptable and investigated straight away. It meant a new way of collecting all children aged up until high school. But it safe guarded all. They failed ofsted for safeguarding based on this and other issues.
He’s 4 that’s horrific! Please put it in writing to the governors and make other agencies aware. Things happen, but he’s 4 not 10 like my DS. My soon to be 8 year old I wouldn’t trust out let alone at 4! Glad he’s safe xx
At my daughters school the big back gates get opened at 2:30pm when year 6 are doing p.e one boy ran out the gates and was ran over there was a massive investigation and now the gates aren't opened until 2:50pm when they finish! I think that it's disgusting because he's 4yrs old god knows where he would if ended up if he didn't see your husband first!! I watch the kids rushing past the teachers and realise how easy it is for them to get out in lexis class her teacher closes the door once one child's parents picked up takes longer but is deffo safer that way sorry this happened to you and your little boy xxx
Woah that's not on. My son is in year 1 and the class sits on the carpet inside class with one teacher whilst his main teacher stands at the door, when she sees a parent she will call the child's name and let them out one by one, to their parent. Scary how no one seen him slip of at all x
I've done nothing but cry ? my little boy is so upset and thinks it's his fault and he's a naughty boy, he's such a happy boy and tonight he's miserable he said he was looking for Daddy I'm going to a meeting tomorrow with the school I'm seriously not letting it drop I'm devastated that I thought he was safe at school now I feel I don't want to send him anymore ? x
Oh my god, r u ok? And ur little boy? I would be absolutely giving hell! There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen. Non whatsoever. Slipped past? Please, they took their eye off the ball and put a little boy in danger because of it! Utterly incompetent. I'm sure u won't but defo dnt let this drop those responsible need to be dealt with!
I would talk to ur baby about not leavin the playground if he can't see u or his dad, and if he does happen to "slip past" them again then to have a safe place in the playground where he can stand and wait for u. Xx
ETA: just told my husband about this, he works in a school, even he is so shocked as to how it's happened. They defo haven't been paying attention.. oh said they should be sacked! Anythin. Could of happened.
I'm so glad he's ok xx
This is absolutely horrible I would be on the phone to the daily mail it's shocking anything could have happened. My little boy has just started school and I have wondered about things like this because the teacher stands looking at who's mum is there and then calls the child but she's often busy speaking to the parents so isn't fully concentrating, there must be a better system!
Just absolutely thank goodness he's ok Fiona!
I think I would change schools I know it's dramatic but still xx
They said he must of slipped past them I don't understand how though it's really shook me up x
I'm so sorry this has happened. I hope your all okay ? is definitely be taking this further. Sophia is 4 next week and if I found out this happened I'd be absolutely furious. Thankfully they make all the kids sit in a room with 2 teachers whilst another mans the door and we have to go into the room and collect our child. Hopefully something gets done about it - hugs xx
