I am very sorry for your loss. But i honestly believe you couldn't have caused or prevented it. i didn't know i was pregnant till i was about 4-5 weeks (i had a gut feeling & randomly took a test came back positive, first baby/pregnancy, very happy!) within those 4-5 weeks after he was conceived i was still taking my bc pills everyday religiously until i found out i was pregnant i completely stopped. My dr told me no harm could be done by taking those pills while i was pregnant. I really don't believe it to be your fault at all. Don't blame yourself over things we can't control.

I will sound like a broken record too but I can confirm that I was told by my doctor that birth control can't cause a miscarriage. So if you did have one, it was probably just natural causes.

If it was a miscarriage, I am sorry for your loss. But there's hope. I just had my rainbow baby in December. It doesn't mean you're infertile or something is wrong with you. These things are horrible and they often times happen due to natural reasons.

Not to sound like a broken record but many people accidentally take birth control while pregnant because they simply didn't know. And many of them had perfectly healthy babies. My friend took bc until she was 16 wks pregnant. She really had no idea. And now her daughter is 11 years old perfectly healthy.

Sending hugs ?

Birth control pills stops/slows follicle stimulating hormones which stop ovulation, they thin the lining of the uterus and they thicken cervical mucus to slow sperm movement, taking them couldn't have caused you to miscarry, try not to be so hard on yourself, sometimes these things happen and we don't know why.

Birth control pills won't cause a miscarriage. You didn't do anything to cause it to happen. I'm sorry for your loss.

It was an estrogen only pill ( Cerazette ). When I lost my first pregnancy I was losing clots for about 2 weeks before hand due to an SCH. This looked different and had a little fleshy coloured tail attached. Sorry I know you guys aren't doctors I just literally have no one to talk to about this. Only my husband knows and he doesn't get why I'm upset. I guess I just need some closure. Hopefully I'll get some next week when I go back. Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words x

What kind of pills did u take? If it was reg birth control, that wouldn't have caused a miscarriage. I don't believe there's anything u could have done, sadly these things happen. Sorry for your loss.

I don't have experience with the pill. But I had a lot of bleeding when I was pregnant with my son. I was early and it happened twice ( about a liter of blood each time). The second time I past a something that was as big as a baseball. My son is almost 2 years old and in perfect health. I'm not trying to give you false hope but you can't Blame yourself for not knowing. Best wishes, op. Keep us posted

That's a tough situation. I'm so sorry for your precious loss! I've had multiple miscarriages as well and I'm on to my second rainbow baby. If you tested positive last week, don't worry yourself just yet! You might still be pregnant. I would wait till you test again or get a U/S at the doctors office before ruling it out. And if you've had a miscarriage I'm so terribly sorry. But just understand that you couldn't have known and it's not your fault! Hugs mama. Hoping for the best. ?

@newlyironman sorry forgot to mention I did a urine test in the doctors office and it came back positive. I have to go back in next week. It was a Friday evening I went in and they were almost closing. I just feel really muddled and confused and hurt. Don't know how to explain it properly. We had a later miscarriage with our first pregnancy at 14 weeks but I knew he was gone. The uncertainty with this has me all over the place

Without testing there's no way to know for sure .

I wouldn't grieve or feel guilty about something that may have happened

It's hard to say if it definitely was, but if your doctor thinks so it's a possibility. However you can't blame yourself, you didn't know, and you can't say for sure it was the pills that did it.

Sorry for your loss ?
