Experienced mamas...need your help!
So I'm just starting to pack my hospital bag and I need some advice on what to pack for the little man. Because he's on course to be a big boy ? should I go with mostly 0-3 mths sizes and maybe just one or two newborn outfits? Also does how much should I pack? I have 6 or 7 vests, 4 outfits and 3 sleeper suits plus bibs, hats and mittens. Is that enough? Doctor thinks ill be looking at a 3 day stay if it's a vaginal birth and 5 for a c - section. As you can probably tell I'm lost ? I don't want them to think I'm moving in for a month but I don't want to be caught short either
I just realized you were asking for a full packing list lol sorry let me try that again
For You:
cell phone & charger list of important #'s just in case
comfortable sweats/pants or shorts (I did not like my back side exposed after)
comfortable underwear including nursing bra (brief/boy short style panties recommended, the bleeding after is very heavy)
camera & battery & battery charger if applicable
warm socks! (I got slipper socks so I checked off 2 items in 1)
nursing pads & nipple cream
comfortable clothing to go home in (you'll still have some belly though it will be squishy so plan accordingly)
belly band if you plan on using one
For Baby:
A couple of choices for going home outfits (including hats & mitts)
carseat (obvious but just being thorough)
A light blanket & warmer blanket for the car ride so you can adjust to the temperature.
nursing pillow (it helps so much!)
I am packing the bare minimum... The hospital will provide everything for the baby plus some (I was sent home with diapers, nasal aspirators, wipes, etc) and basics for you - assuming you're in the U.S.? I will bring some basic toiletries, dark underwear, dark nursing pajamas, a magazine, a camera and charger, phone charger, and an outfit (maternity) to go home. For baby, I'll just bring an outfit (I'll do a NB and a 3 month size), some mittens, a hat, and a blanket (car seat, of course).
Thanks girls! Ya I've definitely over packed so ?? didn't know the hospital provided gowns so ill definitely utilise them. I have maternity pads and breast pads. Arnica lotion and some toiletries. I'll pack snacks and magazines closer to the time. Any other suggestions? I downloaded some lists off pinterest but their so varied. I'd rather know off mom's that have been through it before. Love all the advice, you ladies are awesome ?
^^Iagree. If you can use the hospital outfits for baby. The last thing you need is to bring home a big bag of laundry. I'd say just bring a couple of outfits for pictures/ going home. And a baby blanket or two.
For you, you need a pack of preferred brand of large overnight pads (hospital ones are not the nicest), a pillow with a non white pillow case (again hospital ones are not the nicest), some yoga pants (again wear the hospital gowns if you can for your top as they are handy for nursing and you don't have to launder them).
I also only used the little gowns they provide at the hospital during our stay. He only wore his little outfits when it came time to go home. Those little gowns are so convenient! So easy to for diaper changes and changing in general & the little umbilical stub doesn't get too much pressure put on it...and they hav ebuilt in mitts on the sleeves so you don't have to worry about the baby scratching themselves. I say just pack a couple outfits you would like baby to go home in and utilize the hospital gowns.
At my hosp they want you to leave the baby in a tshirt they provide and diaper and wrapped in a blanket they provide as well, when you go home that's when you can dress them. I guess it's easier for them to do the tests and shots. I would bring a newborn and a 0-3 outfit. They should provide the diaper and little stuff as well. My hosp sucks though :(
I just kept it to rompers in the hospital. Had to buy more though as she was too small for 0-3 smallest of all mine at 7lb15oz.
Here they do a size up to a month which was perfect, as too big for newborn.
Scratch mitts unless built into the romper. 6/7 vests. Always have others at home in a place your OH can find them so if you need them they can get them. Also include wipes for you, so hot in there helps to freshen up between showers.
GO THE f*** TO SLEEP!
Aggghhhhh! My 1 yr old won't stop crying or whimpering! It's been nearly 2 hours! Not hungry, dry diaper, nothing on her fingers or toes, no fever, no ear infection, no vomiting or diarrhea, NOTHING! She's normally an easy sleeper. I just had a 3 day weekend, but tonight she wants to be fussy?! She has dozed briefly a few times but wakes up crying again. I'm losing it! I need to sleep! I even dragged her into my son's bed but it didn't help. Now he's awake too, and tryin...

Before u become pregnant think of this
Do I want to be uncomfortable as hell for 40-42 weeks?
Do I want to be in horrible pain for up to 14-16 hours even longer
Can I handle pushing a big ass head through my vagina
Can I handle this with no pain meds(sometimes u can't make it in time)
Do I want to go to the hospital 10x before I'm actually in labor.
Because inducing your labor at 32-37 weeks for your own selfish needs or getting a csection to do it the "easy" way is just plain selfish and FYI a...
3RD UPDATE: What would you do?
Ok, so we have these new neighbors they have been there renting the house 2 doors down for about 3 months or so. They have a 2 year old boy, he just turned two. They have asked me to babysit him on multiple occasions, just so happens I've been busy each time. In my mind, they don't know me or anything about me. Barely know my name and they want me to watch their kid because they see I have kids and stay home. Apparently they haven't had any luck with the babysitt...
Trigger warning UPDATE IN COMMENTS
So going off of my poll about using correct body terms I need some 2nd opinions. I feel like I am so paranoid about this. So my sil has been with my brother for 12 years now. Our families are really close. We clean for her mom and step dad every two weeks and house sit from time to time. Her mom absolutely adores my dd so we would bring her with us. I started noticing that her stepdad would always want to bring her in another room. I didn't think anything beca...
I need to VENT!!!!!!! Because I'M MAAAAD!! 😡
I just went to Aldi to pick up a few things. I'm waiting in the checkout line and I dropped a $20 bill (yep that's me trying to hold everything, because I didn't want a cart). The lady in front of me picked it up. I thanked her and held my hand out, and she said, "The things found on earth are kept by the collector," and walks away.😡 I was like oh heck NO!! I looked at the person behind me standing in line, they couldn't believe it either.... this can...
