Has anyone tried Brewers yeast to boost your milk supply? And if so, do you recommend pill or powder form?

Lol of took any of this stuff, my chest would explode. ???

Lol but seriously, I've heard the organic stuff is best ?. I've never needed it, but I know some mamas struggle and recommend the organic vitamins and teas.

I struggled with my first to keep my supply up but we also moved cross country a month after DS was born. I wasn't eating or drinking enough due to packing, the movers, visiting family in route..... Gotta love military life. I have learned my lesson with nutrition and bf!

I made lactation cookies with powdered brewers yeast and had good luck with those. I also used Mother's Milk tea by Traditional Medicinals and that worked too.

I used fenugreek, BUT a side affect I wasn't aware of is fenugreek can thin your blood and I was literally bruised from head to toe and (TMI) had blood in my stool. I stopped it once i realized it was the fenugreek and thankfully I went back to normal :/ many swear by it but if you use it be careful

Never used it...i have used fenugreek. Didn't know about blood thinning like mentioned above...i don't recall excessive bruising or anything. But it's been a few years. It does make you smell like maple syrup though. Lol

I've heard good things in brewers yeast, just haven't tried it.

That's exactly what we did, east coast to the middle of the US. With a car full of 3 adults, 3 kids and a newborn... Every time I had food or a drink I would hear "can I have some". No wonder I couldn't keep my supply up. Good luck with your move!

I recommend staying away from bottles and pacifiers until your supply is well established. Breast pumps in many women don't stimulate milk production as well as the baby at your breast. Keep baby with you as much as possible will also help.

My go to for breastfeeding advice is Dr Jack Newman. He has a book and very helpful web site. He will personally respond to questions free of charge.

I recommend pumping after every single feeding for the first few months. That's what I was advised to do, and I had a great supply. All of my friends who have also done this have had no issues with supply.

The baby eats so little in the beginning. The best thing to do is do empty your boobs. That's what tells them to produce more.

After reading your own comments nutrition is key and so is water. If you maintain those things (it is very hard I know!) and keep baby at the boob you'll be good.

I also recommend to pump in between feedings and freeze that milk. Essentially you're telling your body to produce twice as much as you really would need.

Lactation cookies can also help.
